Default savage replacement motor

Hi there, I just joined this forum minutes ago. I have read the threads but would like to possibly have a conversation with people that have actually got experience with the lrz.28r motor, the axial .28 & .32 motors, and the k4.6 and new k5.9 hpi motors. my email is in my profile, thanxs Guy

The LRP SPEC 3 .28 is my fav motor for the savage. It is a powerhouse!! This matched with the 3speed tranny and your savage will fly!! The axial .32 is a motor with more bottom end grunt. The axial .28rr is more top end power.

i would go with axial .32 its a great motor. easy to tune and holds its tune well plus it will not over heat. another great motor that is my fav is the surefire.32 that thing is a beast. there has been alot of critizism about me and my surefire saying they dont have power, but there awsome.

the surefire and the axial are pretty much the same motors.

LRP all the way, finally re-installed it in my MGT (needed parts to come in), and even with the tune all screwed up (I think, is acting weird), pulls wheelies right over onto its lid.

Can't be beat for $180.

I have the 3 speed and a 15 tooth clutch bell and 52 spur, the stock spur was a 49. i want to keep the cost under 200 for sure. i haven't heard too much good about the k5.9 from hpi. the k4.6 i heard good things about and i can get that through hpi with the exchange for 160. the 5.9 is 180.

Buy the LRP from amainhobbies.com, just checked the price, $175 - $12.50 code (JJDCPP912) and it is about $163.

You can not beat this for the price.

Get the standard shipping from Tower, unless A-Main's is cheaper, usually is by a few dollars, but Tower is very rapid in shipping time.

I'm leaning towards the LRP still. haven't made a purchase yet. still doing research on the hpi k 5.9 and the k4.6.

Just a thought but have any of you tried a Novarossi powerplant in the Savage? I have been using Novarossi for many years in all my Touring cars and once I am in need of a replacement engine I will be looking at one from Novarossi to fill the void.
