Team Associated Monster GT.
Everything is nice and open, thick aluminum chassis, the only parts you need to stock up on are the body posts, because they seem to bend, but refuse to break.

slayer. they are so much fun. but like anything stuff does break, but in my opinion this truck is durable. i took my friends and i ran into his house at full speed and only bent the shock shafts.

I agree, however if you're willing to go smaller then go with the MGT 3.0 which is less than half the price of the 8.0 at Tower. The $300 savings can buy a 2.4Ghz system, an Electric-Start system and more spares/hop-ups.

Get an Ofna Titan. Put the associated 8.0 in it and the truck is unstoppable. it has a two speed tranny with a slipper clutch. I have one with the extended chassis and the wide suspension kit. You have to buy them from ebay though. Cause they don't make them anymore.
