E-Revo VS. E-Savage bash-off???

what would be the toughest bashing truck? E-Revo or E-Savage? I just want it for HARD bashing and BIG jumps! :sneaky: Thanks-Chase

Or if it wouldn't be either one then let me know. Just so long as it is electric. I have all my T-Maxx stuff for sale(getting out of nitro) and it needs a replacement.

infernus1986 04-16-2009 07:38 PM

i haven't tried a savage but as far as the e revo go's its a fat heavy slow whale unless you plan on going the brushless lipo route don't waste your time

my buddy just got rid of his E in favor of a Nitro revo

have you seen the video of the savage Flux that thing looks like it can take a real beating that would be my choice if i where looking at electric basher
in fact theirs a thread on it on these forums here http://www.rctech.net/forum/monster-...hp-thread.html

Include the Savage Flux in your choice of basher truck. As infernus posted, it CAN take a beating. You really need to try hard to break something. I have the stock E-Revo before and is just slow for me. Unless you go brushless, might as well go for their brushless edition. You will save more at the end with all that is included.

I didn't even think of getting the Flux before. But just after a few youtube vids and the carnage that it can endure, I was sold. My E-Maxx and E-Revo are sold to get some funds to buy one.

I apologize if my post doesn't jive with your question.

But in any case. I mentioned my past E-Revo. I bashed the truck - stock (at least 2 times) and with Novak HV-Maxx 6.5 (powered by 7 cell 4600mah NiMh) and I didn't break anything. Again, it is slow for my taste in stock form. My E-maxx breaks the most, lol.

Can't say anything with the E-Savage though. Never driven or saw one in person.

Thanks for the input.:) Anybody else? I plan on buying something brushed for now and putting a mamba max in later. Unless i just come across a GREAT deal on a brushless version. But for now i just need to figure out which truck to get.

Thanks- I did look at the savage flux and i really like what i see. So i think i will put it into the equation. So as of now the savage is +2

Keep it up guys i am ready to get to bashing. Thanks again.

G'day all,
I have recently bought a Savage Flux and if it's speed you want go for the Flux for sure. They're a blast, you would not be disapointed. I've seen a mates E-Revo a little while ago and from what I remember the Savage would eat it for breakfast.

re

Well all I can say it's not as tough as you might think. Was out with a body at the track with his BRAND NEW FLUX it lasted all of 15 min. Broke a carrier, bent dog bone and destroyed all the plastic around the diff. He landed on both rear tires at the same time. Not really that bad of a landing IMO.

It's fast as hell tho. But then again he spent 850 for 2 lipos, a dual charger, charge sack, and a power supply.

salabarria 04-16-2009 09:41 PM

the e revo goes to slow if i where you i would get a revo 3.3 which would be good for bashing and it would faster and have more power

but if you have 700 bucks you can get the savage flux or the e revo brushless both of them are great but the savage flux is a better basher

snowboard094 04-16-2009 10:05 PM

E-revo brushless should be in your equation as well since the flux is. The e-revo BL is as fast at the savage (same motor) but handles way better and is more agile. If all your after is bashing and jumping get a savage no dout. If you are a basher who wants to get a performance rig that handles and can bash decent get the e-revo BL. Both trucks are great. The savage is famous for its toughness and the revo is famous for its handling.

I'm not trying to be ugly but did you read the first post of this thread?
NO NITROS. given they are fun, They are just a pain to keep tuned and maintained. The weather here is so dry it hurts one day then so humid you could cut it with a knife the next. Which i just got use to that but i don't really have a LHS so i have to make a 3hr round trip every time i need fuel.
"A" for effort though

To everyone else thanks for your input and i would love to here more but i think i am going to just save up and get a flux. does anyone know how fast it would be on twin 8-cell NiMH packs? The reason i ask is because of the high price of the truck i can't really just dish out the money for it and Lipo packs so they will have to wait. and what would be the better battery? What is the skinny on the A123 packs? and could i use them in the flux? I hear they can be truly charged in 15min.:smile: That would be sweat!!

4wdmt 04-17-2009 10:35 AM

This will give you an idea, Flux with 8 cells:

The same guy even ran the Flux on 6 cells too:

from what ive heard you can only get them cheaply :ha: by buying packs from power tools taking the cells out and making your own packs.
15min charge i doubt that ive yet to see anything that charges that fast that has enough capacity to power anything more than a flashlight.

salabarria 04-17-2009 08:57 PM

ooo lol therefore get a savage flux hands down
