I had a 7XL in my Emaxx at one time, you better have all steel CVD's and watch your slipper. I was geared at a 12/72 if I remember correctly.

Never seen anyone say they can keep that one cool - FANS!! More than 1!!

Get steel spur gear and a RRP dbl disc slipper - stock stuff will melt. Start low - 12-14t and see if those batts help keep you out of trouble. Watch your batt temps! Good luck

hmmm, i might drop the voltage down to 14.4 volts then. and i was thinking of gearing up a little. That way i wont peg the rpm's out on the motor unless i just do a fullspeed run. This is mainly a basher with some sprints thrown in. Right now according to a speed calc adjusted for load and resistance ill have it at 39800rpm. which is right below the mac recommended value of 40000. So, we'll see how this works lol. I'll have to dig up a couple computer fans to help it.

If your speed calc is realistic (nice to know you're planning is based on that), I'd start with that. From what I've seen, most try to gear this up and with a some what heavy MT and this kv, it runs real hot. You can gear a lower kv up cause it has better torque, this was reason I went with 8XL by choice. Then I found out the feigaos just run hot ot hotter. You have to manage that. Heat issues go away when you step up to a better quality motor, but thats expected since they are 3x the price too.
