Default NEED PEDE HELP!

I need some help from you guys-finally got me Pede and am powering it w/Maxamps 5000 LiPo. I am trying to change out stock pinion for the "go fast" one. I removed set screw and could not remove pinion as it was really tight. Didn't want to do any unnecessary damage so i put all back together. Does anyone have a procedure to remove the stocker and install the hi speed one? Could really use the help-thanks

you could try putting it back in the truck and running it without the setscrew, this will put a load on the pinion and make it spin on the shaft which should free it up and it should literally fall off. If that does not work take a pair of flush cutters/ dikes whatever you wanna call them and lightly pry on the backside of the pinion against the motor can.

cool! thanks for the info! Haven't got my batt from MaxAmps yet but it is coming soon (the next few days hopefully.) If I leave the off road pinion in there and run the 5000 Lipo what kind of power response can I expect?

I would expect allot lot of wheelying and more speed than the pede can handle anyway. I dont really think there is a need to stick a larger pinion on there simply because the pede is not designed to be a speed demon. First and every time you put a lil bit of steering input into it while running at any kind of decent speed it will just traction roll.

Just speaking in my experience of high riding light weight electic vehicles, i never have owned a pede. Especially one with a brushless/lipo setup.

all good info, Thanks! I never drove a Pede before-I am mostly into military tanks, and Mini Coop's. I set up a brushless Mini w/7700 Mamba and 2s Lipo and the thing flies! (cloned from RCCarActions Sleeper Swift) I been checking out the posts for adding weight to the Mini and it seems to help. I guess the Pede will be learn as you go; Might just leave the stock pinion in since the Pede is mainly for off road.

Dont even bother, its not needed. Run the damn thing tills its dead, charge it (on a lipo specific charger of course) and run the damn thing some more. If you manage to overheat it that would be absolutely amazing.

OK y'all helped me with the LiPo, gearing situation--Thanks. If I install the taller geared pinion w/ my 3s 5000, does anyone have a procedure? The larger gear does not fit where the stocker was- I believe the motor must be moved to install larger pinion.
