E-maxx..... Slow?
 

I just purchased a new E-Maxx (waterproof) along with two Venom 4200 batteries.... How the hell do I get more speed and run time out of this thing? Is there a brushless setup for it yet? PLEASE HELP!:flaming:

ok did alittle research after I spoke. The offer a Single motor convertion. It is possible to just install any single motor brushless system? Any recomendations?

its pretty much worthless.... alot of argueing over what is better elec. or nitro.

go to page 3 and 4 in the thread. It goes into some detail. Nitro guys can't stand it when electric guys talk tech. It gets too complicated for them.

Yeah, only because electric guys ARE electric guys because they couldn't figure out how to tune an engine.

Yes, any 540 size brushless system will fit, but only a select few systems such as the Novak HV series and the Mamba Monster Maxx will be able to run in a monster truck without overheating.

i dunno why every1 keeps sayin this.......i run electric buggies, electric touring and nitro trucks...i know how 2 tune an engine, but i still wanted 2 convert my tnx 2 a electric....only so i could race it at my local track.....since nitros arent allowed.h

Really? I play on both sides of the fence. I prefer the electric, because the power, size for size, is more than the nitro can handle. I also prefer Nitro, because the powerband is a bit more consistant and smoother. I am saying from my experience, not as a general rule.

Um.. I own three nitro rc cars aswell..... nitro has its pros and cons as does electric. I did not post this thread for the nitro/electric drama.

Sorry, when someone speaks up without thinking, I got to say something. Yes a proper brushless system will push the new E better than the dual brushed. One thing that worked for me when i raced a stock E (brushed) was take 4 D cells (alkaline) and run the motor (off the motor mount) till the batteries can't push the motor anymore, do this to each motor seperate. It will take 8 D batteries but its worth it. clean the motor every 5 runs or so and oil the bushings and they will last. you can also go down 2 teeth on the spur or up one tooth on the pinion will get you a couple MPH. realistically Brushless is the best option

Hey crazyjr, thanks man... I'm gonna pull the motors and take the motorplate to a friend and have him machina a single motor plate.

I converted a T-Maxx to brushless and I am using a Traxxas Velineon motor w/ a Mamba Max esc and it runs quite strong and relatively cool, about 140-150 on the motor and about 160 on the esc. I am using a Venom 4000 mah
3s lipo, get 30+ minutes runtime insane wheely power and 35-40 mph with low gearing. :sneaky:

160 degrees on the ESC isn't "relatively cool" man, you're borderlining that speed control into thermaling.

the problem is that venom batteries stink

better batteries (high quality 7 cells) would really wake that thing up
