Run time problems with emaxx

I have a traxxas emaxx and I recently purchased a couple new racer edge stick packs for it. I charged tehm up 2 times and each run lasted maybe 5 minutes befoer it got really slow. I remember when I first got it I was running for like 15 minutes and it never slowed down, whats teh deal??

What Mah! are the batterie's?
What Amp! are you charging theme at?

C_Money 11-24-2007 02:05 PM

well there basic stick packs and on the case it says sp3000 and the amp I am not sure cause I use the duratrax dual charger and you dont really have an option with that.

So the batterie's are 3000 Mah Nihm or Nicd.

Got a link to the charger so i can look at it.

there nimh and I found teh amps on teh charger, its fixed at 3.5

Hmmm i charge my batteries at no more thane 3 Amp.

3000 Nihm batteries charging at 3.5 Amp should get you around 8 Min. Run time.

If your looking for longer run time.
Get a lipo or these batteries by Duratrax

Ok well I just remember getting a lot of time with them but maybe I am wrong, lol

xsxracing 11-24-2007 02:32 PM

Get 2 4200 Nihm or 4600 Nihm pack's and you'll be a Happy Guy!

Ok and I think I am gonna switch to brushless too so will those batterys be a good pick for that too?

Well put it these way.
If you got a lot of Money$$$ get a brushless and Lipo batteries.
If not just get a brushless and get the Duratrax 4200 Mah Nihm batterie's or some 4600's.
Either way they will be good

It sounds typical of a pack or both packs not being charged fully.
There's a couple of ways to tell.

The batts should be quite warm when full charged and the charge can be timed. It should charge about 58 per minute for capacity. (51 minutes for 3000 mah)

C_Money 11-25-2007 09:36 AM

Ok well I will try and charge it longer, but i am about ready to switch to brushless so I will give better batteries and stuff a try.

C_Money 11-25-2007 11:41 AM

Ok so when I convert to brushless, do I still use 2 batteries or just 1? And I can still use like 4600 mah 6 cell packs right?
