Default ESC/Reciever problems

My problem is that when I make my E-Maxx go forward at full throttle, it stalls, then goes back and forth really fast, and then goes into reverse, especially when the battery is low. I'm using all of the stock electronics. I've already replaced the reciever plug for my ESC, but it didn't help. It didn't do this until I ripped the old reciever plug wire by removing it from the reciever with a needle-nose. I replaced it after my E-Maxx was nearly ran over when it got stuck in reverse . I need some help with this. It has to be my ESC or reciever [duh]. I've lost a race against my cousin's Stampede because of this. Kinda humiliating, but my steering wasn't working well, either. Also, does anyone know a decent setup for a small, indoor, carpet track with loads of turns? Great traction and power, sucky steering and handling. I'm using aluminum 2.5 suspension, stock springs, Bow Tie tires, Sierra body, 40 and 60 wt. oil. Remember, this is for an E-Maxx. Just help me!
