what have you taped in the front shock tower? is that your reciver pack?

2DMaxLST 08-06-2006 06:31 PM

Yes, I run a 2600mah team Helotes pack on my front shock tower. It keeps the frontend down and gives me more on throttle steering.

Where do you get those shock bodies? and what are they good for?

TIA

I ordered and received those in November 04 with my LST1. They were lighter than the LST1 bodies and are very hard with a treated interior surface to eliminate stiction.

I am going to completely document my entire race setup over at lstforums.com this week. Tonight is steering. :D In the picture I have max sized bowties and they shave off 528grams, the LOSI HP plates shave off some weight and make the LST stronger than stock. I hate it when people throw basher plates on a LST and call it a racer, not good. :D

jfc_tech 08-07-2006 07:35 PM

where? lstforums.com . ok im checking. ;)

2D,
whats your setup on your LST2? Ive got break in basically done and am going to take it apart and set it up. I cant believe the rear center grub screw fell out again today after I loctited it last week.

2DMaxLST 08-08-2006 09:31 PM

I use paste type loctite from a tube or the new gel and make sure they are seated in the divots...

Link: My complete steering setup...
I am in the process of documenting my setup completely over at lstforums.com but basically:

30k in front diff
10k in rear diff
white LOSI springs with very little preload and 27.5wt for almost all tracks
stock springs with 30wt for the others...
slight toe out in front
stock rear toe
stock camber
stock a-arms,axles,hexes and wheels with soft-compound panthers for loose conditions and med-soft for higher traction surfaces

I run all LOSI HP plates and a machined engine to chassis brace from Dynamite along with alum diff retainer loops, it's very strong.

mach51 08-10-2006 09:12 AM

well, ive got it setup for this weekend, hopefully the rain will cooperate.
Forward Only Conversion - I didnt do the gear swap mod. I had it in my first LST and I tried it both ways and I liked the standard gear placement better.

30k frt diff fluid
10k rear diff fluid
30w shock fluid all around
white springs all around

2D, I am very particular about keeping my stuff clean. Thats what I like about my MGT so much is in less than a minute usually I can have all the electronics out, another minute and the engine/pipe is out and I can clean the heck out of it and put it back together. Is there a good way to get the steering servos out for cleaning? From my bried experience with my first LST, I had to almost perform brain surgery to get the steering servos out.

2DMax, is that the panther Boa tires? how do u mount it on the wheel? i noticed it had small sidewall compares to CF/Bow tie MT... really? i noticed yours got low profile. did u mount it furhter inside the wheel. im just curious.

2DMaxLST 08-12-2006 10:19 PM

When you see me with white wheels it is Panther Python soft compound, Yellow wheels = med soft compound, they glue up without modification to the stock LST2 wheels that I used.

jfc_tech 08-12-2006 10:31 PM

is the stock LST2 wheels using 17mm or 23mm hex? i like the sets. maybe i shud order panther Boa. :)

jfc_tech 08-12-2006 10:34 PM

python i mean.

2DMaxLST 08-12-2006 10:37 PM

I use the stock 20mm hexes with 17mm nuts that the LST2 uses.
