The stock servo savers are weak.

has anyone gotten rid of the second sterring servo? or replaced both with one high torque one?
the reason i ask is i had one servo give out, and in a move of desperation, had to run with only one servo. to my amazement, the truck steered great...in fact better than ever. i had to turn the steering rate down. so yeah.... theres my Question. thanks for your help. |
i might try that i think. seems like ot worked for you.. just the one servo?

i had one servo fail. there was no binding at all.
with just the one servo running, it worked great!! better than new!! had me a little puzzled so i was wondering if anyone else did this, or if anyone had ditched em both and gone a good high torque unit instead and if it was successful. i thought i may pull out both and get a real good one. |
I would have to see pictures of a V2 bent BAC link. It's hardened steel and would break before it would bend. It does flex under extreme stress. Beyond that BAC replaces any damaged link without questions. I've been running the BAC V2 link since before it was available with dual Airtronics 94358's, alum bellcranks with associated servo savers, or the stockers with a additional spring added.
You can see the BAC link and Integy alum bellcranks here. http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...parts_1108.jpg In general all Integy parts are junk. I buy the cheapest version of their bellcranks, throw the bushings away and install new avidrc.com bearings, use a single pass with a 3/32 drill but to accomidate the BAC link and I have bullet proof steering. The BAC link is stronger than the stock bellcranks. http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...parts_1092.jpg |

Austin is one of the funnest places to race....good food, good music, good people, killer layout with massive elevation changes. The race announcer/director has a wireless mic and will be talking to the crowd while using a firehose on the track. :D Poorly done stich photo I took of the NCRC track in Austin |
