Revo 2.0 gearing/batteries
hey guys....just bought a revo 2.0 a few days ago. I've been out of it for a few years. Im a little dissapointed.....
Out of the box I had a few 5200 20c batteries. Stock gearing was slow and far from punchy.....upgraded to 19/46....lost all of the low end.....changed to 19/54 had to Dremel the plate to get the gear to mesh correctly....
Is it the batteries? I remember my 1st gen revo doing backflips in the road. I have 5200 60c on order but im struggling with the gearing. It seems like everything's much more limited than it used to be.
I would like to at least pull the front end and bash through the yard around 50.
My buddies 3.3 revo spanked me.....i remember not being able to control the dang thing.
Advice? Thanks

5200mah 20 c batteries . drop a 4 cell 5000+mah over 50 c in it.. then compare it to the 3.3.

You dont say what batteries you used, other than capacity and C rating. What was powering your truck?

2s? 3s? 4s?

3s 5200 60c. Switched back to stock gearing 15/54 as well....far from exciting. Wont pull the tires, just boring lol.... i remember my old revo from 4 years ago and this isnt anything like it.
I recaled the tx as well and verified the buggy was in sport mode. Also turned TSM off.

3s is pretty tame for that truck / motor. Should run 4s at least, if not 6s.

4 cells is what most people run.another gearing change coming

with 20 c batteries .there will never be any impression made..I run 4 cells on all 5 of my 1/10 scale Erevos and Im very impressed .blown a few sets of tires apart.anytime I hit the trigger front wheels can come-up but I like all 4 on the ground..right now battery of choice is 2x 2 smc 6200mah 100c race grade...op might want to tell all facts about what you be running.

If you're not impressed with 6S on an E-Revo, then maybe what you need is noise & smoke to be impressed, because it is not lack of power.
Is your clutch too loose? It seems like you want it a bit tighter to be able to loft the fronts..
Also, if you want to do 50 mph across your front yard, you must have one hell of a big yard... Either that, or I have to question your judgment.

The new e revos dont have a slipper clutch. its called a cush drive system that essentially utilizes a rubber bushing in-between the motor output and the gearbox. It obviously has some give but it can't slip like a slipper.
