Default Savage electric conversion shaft too long

Hi guys. I've got a Savage 21 that I'm trying to convert to electric. I bought the HPI conversion gear and shaft kit 100905. The new shaft is too long. Cases will not meet up together now. What's the deal there?

It looks like you need to use the newer "Savage X/Flux" transmission case. The older Savage .21 case was a smaller box.

So all I need is the case? All my existing gears/shafts will work for this?

I would contact HPI to make 100% sure. It has been over ten years since I've owned a Savage. I do remember the transmission giving me fits when I converted one though.

Thanks KMN. Think I'll sell this one and just buy a new truck brushless.
