I was at the Novak race a couple weeks ago and they allowed open speedo's in the 13.5 12th class. The Tekin with 203 software was the flavor of the weekend. There were a few guys in the A with BD's and they had no advantage on a 100' straight with a sweeper on the end. There were a few Mamba's as well and I was pretty impressed for the $130 price tag.
I ran the SPX in 13.5 12th, and it was like draggin an anchor down the straight compared to the tekin controlled cars. I had to drive the wheels off to make the top of the B.

Andrew sets up some knarly tight courses here at MMR in the cities, and it has helped take away some of the difference as we really never get to sustain full throttle for any amount of time.

See you in a couple weeks.

I read Bob's link. Very true and hard to be honest with your own skills.

I did the math on my 13.5 12th run.
A1 main winner had a score of .546, and my B main finish (4th) was .597,pretty close all things considered.

Difference was his combined equipment and ability allowed his average lap time to be almost exactly 1 sec faster per lap.

Hmmm, I really like this formula. Makes you think about it a little differently.

Well ladies and gentlemen,

There has been a little stir with all the speed control comments. I would like to appologize if our comments have offended anyone. I for one am very excited about the Prairie Knights race. Lets not forget what this is all really about, its just toy car racing. The real reason we do this is a bunch of fun people getting together to share in a passion that we all love. So lets settle down, have a great time seeing old friends and making new ones, help each other out and HAVE FUN!!!!! The PRCP guys do a fantastic job at all there events. Ill see you at the race!!!

Bjerke, they let you run 4-cell at that race, remember... not quite the same as 1s. In your defense, though, they were old packs

No I bit the bullet and had a new car with a brushless and lipo setup in it at the last race. I was all legal like. I sure wish you were there to help me tune my Tekin RS setup I was running. Then it would have been Randy a 10th slower than me. (not!) Have to work on my consistancy.

everyone is under the impression that i was implying the B D speedo is better, everyone that has run the twekin w/the new 203 version of software knows its the esc to have, i was just giving the B D guys an out so they won't have to run against the twekins!

stormer,

are you bringing any food to the casino race, i like pb&j sandwiches!

whole wheat of course

and don't forget the B Q hat

I thought when people were talking about "Black Diamond" they were talking about a gentlemens club north of St. Paul. My bad.

Just wondering Brandon, did you go faster or slower when you made the change from brushed 4 cell to brushless lipo?
