I agree. I went and looked at one yesterday and almost walked out the door with it. Im sure for the speed it will be sufficient.

As a consumer I really dislike buying RTRs only to throw away all the electronics. I would rather spend the money on a better kit then electronics I will never use.

With the slash class that's the deal no "better kits" kind of the point.

We can talk about this later. It seems that this will have a startup cost of $300. I can get a slash and throw away the electronics and put my own ESC in it or I could get an AE car with an ESC for the same price.

Again Im only looking at this from a "how my money gets spent" angle. I dont mind spending money but I have a hard time not spending it wisely. Thats all.

I suppose I shouldnt complain...at least were not using NiMhs. One step at a time

What we are looking at is chassis specific. The thread is Slash racing.

I understand all the options and reasoning. There is significant cost and advantages on the Losi and Assoc soon to be here CORR trucks. That is why what MMR is going to look at is a Slash spec racing class.

OK now I understand what you mean by spec, not like the VTA cars but more
strict like the Legends R/C cars.A Slash class would be great.
Sorry for pushing the thread off topic.

Default Slash Class

Just my .02 not trying to start trouble here but i was very excited about this class thinking it would be a very affordable spec class to get new guys out to race and to have it where they could buy the truck at the LHS and come out and be on par with everyone else but i can see It already,We are going to end up with 500 dollars in high end electronics in a 100 plastic truck. If this is the case I would rather buy a sc10 and build my own kit and at the end of the day have a much better truck.I can see if the esc sizzles or the servo takes a crap to then replace but I can bet this wont be the case as racers will look for every edge the can get if the rules are open on electronics. It does not seem like the right thing to do to buy a 200 rtr kit and then gut it out,and buy all new electronics to be competitive.I would rather just run my t4 if this is going to be the case.

I at this point see no need to change the speedo. I have run a three cell lipo and 7 cell Nimh through mine while doing wheelies on carpet and have no issues. Buy the truck for $175 put your receiver and radio in it and get what ever battery we decide to use and come race. If we go to the associated the class is over before it starts. As far as Iam concerned the thread says Slash !!! there is no need to bet this up. Move on.

last summer down @ Jerry's we ran stock slash. every thing had to be stock except for radio, body and gear cover. gear cover was rpm cause the stock on has a hole in it so rocks would get i there and chew up your gears. as far as batteries was either 6 or 7 cell, what ever you had on hand was fine. thats only cuase there was only 6-8 of us. but we had lots of fun. it reminded me that you dont need to spend alot of money to have a lot fun racing.

So are there enough unique ones, or is it gonna be tough to keep em apart on the track with just a few different paint schemes available?
