If you guys go out to the track, take some pics, would be nice to see what the changes made are and could spark even more interest seeing the new setup.
Not sure about anyone else from Fargo, but I believe they are lurking the various boards and could make a showing. Hope to see them there!

Here is some added info on the site from a post I made in the WWNH Forum:
The site has a small building next to the track that is both a permanent out-house style bathroom and warming house for the skating rink next to it. The skating rink has a solid concrete base. Right now, the Manvel Park Board is putting an open-ended building over that rink. I do not know if that will be done enough for us to use as a pit area for this race, but it will be nice for next year.
Back to the Warming House & Bathroom, inside there is a locked utility room with 100 amp service. At this time, there are only two outlets on the outside on the building, but I will add another breaker or two for more power for us. The supply is adequet, but do bring cords. As far as tables goes, there is a bunch under pole building about 50 yards from the track. Luckily for us, I am pretty connected in Manvel because I work as an HVAC Tech for a company named D & D Heating and Sheet Metal that is in Manvel. That gives me equipment to borrow like a big fork lift and etc. I am planning to have that lift on site to use to haul picnic tables around with. For those that have tables, please bring them if possible. For those that don't, we will do what we can for.
Have I said too much? If you have any more questions, please let me know.

Pics & Stuff
Hi Racers:
Here is some quick pics of the track following this morning's rain. There is also a couple pics showing the large pit area, playground and the park buildings we can use. That other big building being built is over the park slab they flood for their ice rink. That will have lights and be another great asset to the site. The driving stand, now stretched with an added section in the center can hold ten racers comfortably. Right in front of the driver's stand I will have a 20' pit lane set up that will ramp off into the top of the sweeper. I also secured portable lighting so if it gets dark before we can still complete the mains; no problem. It is going to be fun!

If needed, and you guys can find the cords, I am willing to bring 3 500watt X 2 halogen lamps if you need them.
Let me know.

RAMBLINGS FROM THE RACE DIRECTOR...
Hi Racers:
First off, I would like to thank EVERYONE for their support of the Manvel R/C Fall Shoot-Out Race this year. It was a great success. We had a real good showing and this helps ensure we will be able to keep going from here. I am sorry for the later start than we had hoped. We all have families, jobs and other things that interfere with our duties to the R/C Hobby. (Did I put that wrong?) Anyway, I sincerely hope we did good enough by all you racers this year and hope you all had a great time.
There is an issue or two I would like to straighten out. After restoring the back-up files here in my shop and taking a real good look at the qualifying results, I have to point out that in the first heat of 1/8 Truggy, the system did not count any laps that were under 20 seconds. This is because we had not had the chance on this new track layout to run timed hot laps and misjudged what would be an impossible to beat double-count setting. I set the program to ignore any laps below 20 seconds. After that first race was done, I realized that you guys were beating that, so before going to Race #2, reset all classes to ignore any lap times below 10 seconds. During Truggy Heat #2, Nick Moxley had three laps in a row of only 18.5 seconds! Well, all I can tell you all is this was an honest mistake and if anyone is really upset over this, we are truly sorry.
So, this brings up related issue #2, Nick Moxley, you did not make 17 laps in 1/8 Truggy nor actually TQ in that class. The computer shows Nick's first lap at 2.6 seconds and marks it to be reviewd for a possible error. Well, I think we all can agree that though Nick is good, he did not make a 2.6 second lap. I thought this was really wierd considering the fact that the double count was set at 10 seconds, so there should not have been any laps at all printed under that. I called Bill Wishon (The creator of Autoscore) and told him what happened and emailed him the back-up files for proof. This glitch made it look like Nick broke 17 laps when he really got 16. So Nick actually clocked in a best run of 16/5:18.90 and Keith Schroeder's best run was 16/5:02.55. This makes Keith Schroeder TQ in 1/8 Truggy. Sorry about this mix up. As far as I can tell, no other issues occurred that would effect the true race results enough to cause another position switch.
Again, I hope you all had fun. We need your support to keep this raceway going. Hope you will come again next season!
