RULES FOR 1/5-SCALE FUEL CLASSES
1.0- BODY RULES
1.1 Bodies must be painted except for window areas, which must be clear or open. Windshields may not be cut out. If the rear window is cut out, it must be completely cut out unless the cut out is only for access to the Shut-off Switch. In this case, a single hole may be cut out inside a rear window area, located to allow easy access to the Shut-off Switch. Drilling or cutting a series of holes in windows is not allowed.
2.0 ENGINE RULES
2.1 The maximum displacement allowed is:
STC or GT: (23cc), 4WD: (26cc), and F1 (26cc). Engines can be modified but must be within specified “cc” limit.
2.2 The engine case must be factory- original. No billet-machined cases are permitted.
3.0 MUFFLER RULES
3.1 Maximum noise level allowed is 85 dB(A) at a distance of 33 feet. Race Director can decide whether a vehicle that produces a noise level in excess of other cars will be allowed to compete.
4.0 FUEL RULES
4.1 Only unleaded 'corner gas station' automotive pump gasoline available to the general public may be used. The use of aviation or racing gasoline that is not street legal automotive pump gasoline is specifically prohibited unless the race is to be run with event-provided gasoline.
5.0 TIRE RULES
5.1 Tire traction compounds, other tire chemicals/additives, or chemical tire cleaners are not allowed.
6.0 SAFETY RULES
6.1 No refueling is allowed during the running of Main event.
6.2 Vehicles must have brakes in good working condition.
6.3 A shut off switch must be fitted to all vehicles, and its position on the vehicle must be marked on the body by a 20mm diameter white circle bordered in red, containing the letter “E” in red, centered in the circle.
7.0 CLASS RULES
7.1 Vehicles are divided into three (3) classes by body type: Touring Car, 4WD TC & Formula Cars.
Cars should not be split into separate classes if this will result in two or less cars running in a separate class. If 2WD and 4WD are run together, they will be scored separate due to the inherent advantage of the 4WD vehicles.
7.2 Transmission: Single speed only.
7.3 Wing: only one single-element for 2WD and 4WD.
7.4 Formula Wing – rear: Side profile Maximum 95mm wide X 120mm high Number of wing elements Maximum 2 Width Maximum Distance between inner edges of rear tires
8.0 QUALIFYING RULES
8.1 Qualifiers will be 7 minutes in length with a 3-minute warm-up period.
8.2 A maximum of 7 cars per heat and main are allowed.
8.3 The number of qualifying rounds will be up to the Race Director, but a minimum of 2 rounds is suggested.
8.4 Method for qualifying would be: Begin the clock after a 3-minute warm-up period, sound a starting horn. At the end of the run sound a finish tone or horn. Best flying lap time will set the starting grid order. Actual method of qualifying must be announced before qualifying begins.
8.5 The best qualifying rounds will be used to set the mains.
8.6 The mains will be set with one (1) bump up.
9.0 RACING RULES
9.1 All races must be preceded by a 3-minute warm-up period.
9.2 A staggered standing start in qualifying formation will be used for Mains.
Race duration as follows:
2WD: 25 minutes, 4WD: 25 minutes, F1: 25 minutes, Open: 20 minutes.
Races will not be stopped unless as indicated below.
Races will be run using loudspeakers to alert drivers of a caution situation.
10.0 Caution type
10.1 Horn/PA signal Flag Signal Action
10.2 One Single, 2-second blast Green Flag All clear, continue racing. Two, 1-second blasts Yellow Flag Caution – slow driving required on all parts of the track. Three, 1-second blasts Red Flag Stop immediately
10.3 Under Caution #2 (Yellow flag) condition, all racers must bring their cars to a slow controllable speed and are not allowed to pass.
10.4 Under Caution # 3 (Red Flag) condition, all racers must stop their vehicles immediately wherever they are on the track surface.
10.5 A Caution #2 or #3 (Yellow or Red Flag) condition must be called prior to anyone going onto the racetrack. No corner marshals or mechanics are allowed on the track during practice or racing without a caution being called. Marshals will wait until race vehicles come to a slow, controlled pace before entering racing area. Track maintenance must be done under a caution condition.
11.0 PENALTIES
11.1 Rough driving, or passing under a Caution #2 (Yellow Flag) will incur a ten- second stop-and-go penalty. A second offense may result in disqualification at the discretion of the Race Director.
11.2 Failure to obey a Caution #3 (Red Flag) will result in disqualification from the race in which the offense occurred.

new layout
Marcos, we both now Jimmy very well. He is something special. Joel is down to earth also. Thank you both, Jim and Joel for helping Wagner do upgrades. The layout looks more technical. Very Kool. Control and finesse looks like the key. I love it. Grate Job!! But we all must thank Marcos and his family and the Jersey crew for making all of this happen for us grown boys to play with big toys.
Happy New Year everyone

Again, it is amazing what a few bucks and a few hours of work can do.
Today I ordered (8) gallons of the Sherwin Williams asphalt paint and will have it tinted in a very cool green . I was able to manage a deal for about 20 bucks a gallon (50% savings!!!). In the next few weeks will be fabricating a steel PC table in my garage and bring to the track to cemented in the ground. The existing table keeps getting pushed around by the kids when nobody is around.

Need to put this in the Largescale section so it can easily be found by the 5th scale audience.
