RCGT weight , Part 2
All,
Since I started this thing, I'll take a stab at it.
1. I move that the minimum weight for the RCGT class for "The Track" Summer Series be established at 1420 grams, ready to race.
2. I also propose that this weight be used throughout the summer series and be subject to further reduction at the end of the series.
All in favor say "Aye"
All opposed say "No"

RCGT weight reduction
Greg,
1. I was trying to get to the idea that after the series is run , and we have a summers worth of experience at the 1420 gram level, we may want to reduce it further.
2. There may be a further reduction in TC weight by ROAR after the summer on-road Nats, and I understand that this summer Vegas IIC will probably use a weight limit of somewhere around 1400 gr . As the rest of the RC world goes lighter, we should be prepared.
3. FYI - I piled all the components for a RCGT car on a scale.(rolling chassis, 17.5 motor, Tekin RS ESC, Futaba servo,Spektrum DSM receiver, 4 mounted X-patterns, 5000 MAH Lipo battery, transponder and painted HPI GT body). Using a XRay 009 rolling chassis it came up to a 1368 gram vehicle. This was with all steel drive train parts, fasteners and metal shocks. You can see that at 1420 grams there is still a lot of "fat" in the weight standard.
Sorry for any confusion,
Rod

For the last two week I was running mine RCGT with 1475+ anyway. I probably won't lower it as the car is very good and balanced.

Is there a set gear ratio to run? As in nothing higher than 5.5 and nothing lower than 5.0 for example?
