The drive cups can wear like that. I don't think there's an upgrade for it. You'll have to keep an eye on them and change them out as necessary. Things that can cause it are landing jumps on throttle and quick starts, like drag racing starts.

Ah, thanks. Actually looking at them a little more shows it's mostly from braking. I thought I'd have to get one of the programming cards to reduce the braking as it's essentially on on/off switch as soon as the trigger moves forward at all. However, the manual language below makes it seem like the brakes are supposed to be progressive anyway. Does the initial brake force adjustment address the progressiveness, or is the 60A model better at brake progression?

"3.5.Maximum Brake Force: The ESC provides proportional brake function. The brake force is related to the position of the throttle stick. Maximum brake force refers to the force when the throttle stick is located at the top point of the backward zone.A very large brake force can shorten the brake time, but it may damage the gears."

I haven't had a problem with the brakes being proportional. Maybe you need to recalibrate the esc.

LC Racing has a new vehicle, the PTG-2 1/10 rally car but I can't find it for sale in the U.S. yet. Has anybody heard about this car?

I have one. I got it from rcmart about a month ago. It's a nice shaft driven 4wd TC chassis that has its pros and cons, but in general you can expect it to drive like a TC3/TC4/TT01

Pros:
- Plastic quality seems very good. The plastic knuckles and hub carriers look nice. I don't think they'll need upgrading.
- Sealed metal gear diffs. They include the seals in these unlike the smaller EMB diffs. I'm running grease packed in front and 3000wt in the rear.
- Drives very predictably.
- Uses EMB shocks, so if you have any of the 1/14th emb's then you can share shock parts. Red springs & 45wt oil work well with the added weight of the 1/10th chassis & electronics.
- Sealed motor mount. *This is both a pro and a con. Pro because it prevents dirt/debris from damaging the pinion or spur.

Cons:
- Sealed motor mount - Con because the motor mount is not adjustable. 1) the cnc'd mount doesn't have adjustable screw holes. 2) the injection molded cover is made to such a narrow tolerance that only the stock pinion or smaller would fit.
- *Not a fan of the steering column geometry, but it works well, so this is just a personal thing. It drives well.

The motor mount thing is a bit weird to me since I don't know why they'd want to limit gearing options on purpose... but that's what they did. Other than that, it's a really nice chassis, and definitely one of the tougher/more durable looking rally chassis available.

Thanks for the info. What's the wheelbase? So it seems like the differences are wheelbase, width, 540 motor with a set motor mount. That's weird because the 1/14 vehicles have a sliding adjustable motor mount. The diffs are new and the steering assembly is new. Maybe this new set up gets rid of a lot of the slop from the 1/14 vehicles.
Did you buy yours as an ARTR or a RTR?

Wheelbase is approx. 260mm.
It's a proper 1/10th scale from the ground up. The only carry over from the 1/14th scale EMB line are the shocks.
Also there's no slipper clutch. It doesn't need it.

It's supposed to release in the US market by the end of April along with a buggy chassis in July.

Anyone have experience with both the Tenshock and the LC2850? My truggy that I've converted into a LWB buggy came with the Tenshock, but the SCT I picked up recently came with the LC2838, which I find to have better acceleration at the same punch settings. Is the 2850 similar (quicker accelerating than the Tenshock)?

Which truggy motor? The older OE one (LC2850) or the newer OE one (Tenshock)?

Anyone seen the new truggy body? It looks like they used the same guy that designed the body for the Tekno ET48 2.0.

As a side note does anyone know how much the buggy weighs stock without a battery?

The older one is what we have here, not sure if tenshock made a truggy specific motor you got a pic? If its the same as what the buggies have been using for motor, then the older one runs cooler from our experience. Outside of that, the mythical Leopard sensored motor I have here is a beast in my LC12B1, use a 25mm fan on it like a 1/10 buggy but it ran pretty cool sealed up in the buggy body steup
