You can run them in series with a series connector... It will split your runtime in 1/2 while doubling your power output... But unfortunately on these little guys the diffs cannot handle that kind of power output... WAYY TO MANY of us found this out the hard way...

1/16 E-Revo = 1/16 E-diffshimminsonofa*****...

Wont do it on 2s batteries , you need 3s .

11.1v 3s will do backflips with ease, but why do ou want a 50+mph back flip....it will break...often

I think he means he wants to do standing back-flips from a standstill and still be able to go 50+ all with the same set-up. 3S with the speedgear installed should do this.

Caution: do NOT run a pair of 2S lipo in series (4S) unless you want your esc smoked. The stock esc cannot handle 4S. Series is only for the stock NiMH's on the vxl3-m. If you want to run 4S (insanity in a Merv), you'll need to step up to a 1/10 scale esc that is rated to handle it.

You can always go big block (PM me if you want a NIP tenbol mount). I did that with my MERV and could do backflips easy. Plus with the bigger motor, you get no heat problems.

You would be able to run any 540 motor.

I personally ran a castle cm36 5700kv since I found one used for a good price (Don't really need 4pole as that will just give you excessive torque). That gave me really good power and speed. I was always light on the throttle and was rarely ever at full throttle unless I had a lot of space (which I don't at my local park).

There are cheaper options though like a TACON motor or a hobbywing one.

If you shim up your diff's properly and adjust the slipper well you won't have diff issues. I personally shimmed up my diffs and never had issues. I also had a castle ESC that allowed me to limit torque and things too.

My advice would be to pick up a hobbywing system. It is cheap and very customizable in terms of setting. Or maybe find a cheaper castle system (sv2 or sct + 540 motor.
