Default Vendetta SC broken out drive

I broke one of these (black piece) on my truck after only a couple runs (stock on 2s lipo)

I don't know why they would make the out drive out of plastic.. Are there any stronger solutions out there?

upgrade to the ball diffs and get the steel cvds. That should do it. you can get them at www.towerhobbies.com

Yes, they are garbage. My son broke his in grass with a nimh pack! We upgraded both our trucks with the DTX cvds from Tower.

Wow ok. I'm not spending $80 to upgrade this truck. Are there any alternatives? 3rd party cvds? If not I think I'll buy a new plastic one and sell this thing asap.

The DTX CVDs come with metal outdrives; better, but still not bulletproof since the internal gear can strip out. The only way to get it bulletproof is with the CVDs and Ball Diffs. Aftermarket CVDs will do you no good without upgraded diffs.

All I need right now are the out drives because one of mine snapped. I can only seem to find metal ones bundled with the cvds for $38

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...294+&search=Go

Even the plastic ones come bundled with other parts I don't need:

Last Duratrax I buy if theyre gonna rip the snot out of us when we need replacement parts. Especially since the part just snapped while using the stock motor!! These pieces should be metal to begin with..

This has been a longtime problem with the Vendettas. There is plenty of info pertaining to this in all of the various Vendetta threads. Research before you buy.........

The SC is worth it. I'm glad I bought mine around Christmas when Tower was dealing. Didn't hurt as bad then. Still gotta get ball diffs though..... one day. Just got my motors back from having the shafts cut. It's back together and ready for some weekend camping fun!
