The Slash is a better basher because of its size. For racing it would depend on the track and the class which is raced. Not many tracks race 16th scale classes.

I have both too (actually a brushed and brushless version of the 1/16 Slash, and a brushless SC18). I just bash; no racing for me. For dirt and paved surfaces I much prefer the SC18, as the 1/16 Slash is very roll-over prone (I can't even force the SC18 to roll by turning too sharp). The trade-off, however, is that because the SC18 is lower and smaller, it can't really handle running in the grass.

Get the slash hands down.

I've talked to a few people and they havn't been happy with the SC18. Belt driven off road cars are typicaly a BAD idea. They can look good but functionality is poor. The Traxxas will be faster, handle better, and likely break less (per speed, hitting something with a VXL doing 60mph will destroy just about anything haha)

This may be blasphemous, but I heard that the Vendetta SC is actually better than the Slash 1/16

You can get 2200mAh 2S lipos for under $10, but they ship from overseas

I have not run a vendetta yet, I do have 2 mini slashs though. One brushed (lame) one VXL (wheee!)

I am in hte process of MT modding the VXL (Losi basher tires) which gives more ground clearance. I have only run it without the body so far, but it is SO much better for bashing in the yard. Give a lot more ground clearance.

If there was something in between the size of those tires and the stock wheels I think the minislash would be an excellent basher. Works great on dirt paths, sand and asphalt though with stock tires.

Just my noob experience though.

For general bashing I think 1/10 scale is the best though (pede powah!)
