Default Shim mini revo diff'? Clarification please..

I just received my mini revo and I've read in the forums that it is important to shim the differential. I purchased the recommend ASC21141 shim set but I have not been able to find in the forums where exactly you are supposed to shim. Does the shim go between the diff' case and the bevel gear (to get a tighter mesh to the diff' ring gear) or on an outdrive to shift the ring gear and diff' laterally.
I guess when I pull it apart it will be obvious but it would be nice to get some clarification before hand.

Generally the large diameter shim gows between the bearing outer race and tranny case, a small diameter shim would go between outdrive bump and bearing inner race.

You can push the bevel gear toward or away from the drive pinion as needed, typically it's shimmed toward it to make it tighter..
