Thumbs up Mini-Z on Carpet in Chino, CA

Hi, all

I opened indoor carpet rc track in Chino, CA a month ago.

Yesterday, Grant and Lucas tested Mini-Z at TQ, and Mini-Z runs great on carpet !!

Hope to see more Mini-Z racers

Great video @ TQ...it really highlights the versatility of mini-z's and what a fun racing class it truly is...if only more 12th scale guys tried it...I bet a whole bunch would make the switch.

Default Brushless?

Any chance to get a burshless motor on a PN motor pod? My Spektrum car has some servo problem(think its a loose wire). But after looking at this video, I am thinking lipos and brushless.

Anyone else?

no need for brushless.....i think liFe and 130 motor will be fast enough...i will be testing the LiFe next week!

Cool

The mini-z's did look right at home on the carpet. Wonder how a Serpant S240 would look on the track? I need to sell a few mini-s and get a Serpant.

Maybe have to line the bottom with tape or something.

Default RX problem

Figured out what the problem was on my car. The Spektrum rx! Very bad workmanship on the way they placed the Cypress processor. I looked it under a 50x magnification. No enough solder on the pins, ground pour under the chip was too little. So, everytime the board would move/flex a bit, it stops working.

Getting it resoldered again. hopefully will work this evening, and should be ready for test run at the track tomorrow.
