Nice job on the lights, man. I love night flying/driving. I fly my quad 90% at night. It's grounded for the time being with one bad esc. :/

Thanks Bill. That's good to know. I like the looks of that buggy.

Warock, those lights are awesome! Makes me kinda miss the all terrain capabilities of the SC18... I do remember it being a fun little bugger for light bashing around the hood! And chasing the dogs around in the house!

But, as Bill posted, if I were to pick up another mini for better offroad capabilities I would consider that Tacon 1/14 buggy, or try to find a used Losi Mini 8ight.

Thank you guys, I just got in from outside the house driving it around, Although its raised up I dont get to take it in the dirt much, mostly asphalt/cut grass, but it handles well in every terrain for me (except tall grass/pile of leaves). Honestly for bashing around the street, I love this car.

Its a shame the car is so unpopular.

Well just gonna post this here.

I got the both the ball diffs installed and properly adjusted (to the best of my ability driving it in the street) with 10k wt oil and man what a difference over the gear diffs, I mean it could just be my mind playing tricks on me but it drives much better with the ball diffs on, same top speed, better control.

Could be the gear diffs needed different oil or something I dont know... but when I would accelerate very lightly (car off the ground) with the gears the car tires would stop/go/stop/go as if there was a little too much friction there and it kept stopping the motor, with the ball diffs its now "silky smooth" quoting the Zohan there, if anyone remembers that movie, funny stuff.

The 1/12 rally chassis is longer then the 1/14 chassis... there are two rally's the 1/12 is bigger because of the bigger chassis and body. There's also a 1./14th rally but Nitro RCX doesn't sell these.

sorry offtopic..

pretty sure they discontinued the belt drive system and have gone back to a shaft drive setup under the "Apex" series if I'm not mistaken.

With my SC18, I have found it necessary to use my dremel to file down the set screw in the pinion to prevent the belt from rubbing. If the pinion itself is rubbing, then you want to go with a larger spur/pinion to minimize the risk.

I think I'm currently running a 17/66 in my current setup... I think some folks were running 60T spurs at one point and were having issues with their belts.

haha! I'm with Bill on this. Not entirely sure why you want to flip the motor to the other side.
