So I bought SC18 RTR online for my one of my nephews. The other nephews liked it so much they wanted one too. So went to my LHS and bought another SC18 RTR and one 18T2 RTR for my two other nephews. Wanted to get three SC18's, but my LHS only had an SC18 and 18T2 in stock. The 18T2 is fine and my youngest nephew loves this car since it's faster than his older brother's SC18's and it's shaft drive so no drag in the drivetrain.

As for the SC18's one has a really smooth and free drivetrain, but the other SC18 just feels all bound up which eventually killed the motor. I bought a new motor and I took the whole car apart to see what might be causing the binding as well as inspected and cleaned all the parts. Put everything back together and is still bound up. I did back off some of the screws to see if it would help free it up and it did a little, but once again the motor brushes seized on the commutator. I read I can take out the belt tensioner to free it up? Any other ideas or suggestions?

I suggest you email AE, as they have just started making new front differential casings that move the front diff back, in effect loosening the belt. They haven't released any official info yet, but me, along with some guys on the RC18T2/B2 thread emailed them with our mailing address and got a response saying that they would ship us our replacement parts ASAP, no need to send the car in

AE is sending me two as I own a blue and a gray SC18. They said the rear diff will not be changed. We'll discover the results after installing them.

Drop them an email, or call. I left a voice mail with tech support a month ago and did not hear back. This time, they responded to my email in less than a day.

I have them on my exotek RC18T.
car was awesome on carpet but that could have also been the Losi street meats as they are super sticky and I have never had so much steering

I think it was a bit calmer and seemed to hold a line better..
Was getting use to it by end of night as was over steering it a bit as not use to all the extra steering.
I finally had even steering both ways as needed to move the servo back as far as it would go because the extra outer position on the hubs makes the steering link even closer on the rh side rubbing of the servo horn than it usually is..this is on the exotek chassis and dont know how this would effect the sc18.

So what exactly are you guys doing with your sc18's? I bought mine thinking the smaller scale would be perfect for a little bashing and just playing around the yard. But unfortunately it's too small for the yard, too small for the track, and just not nearly as much fun as an on-road for th carpet or street. So where are you guys enjoying yours??

X factor Ramps in the house and rolled up towels to line a track Works for me!
