IT DOES! Also, the screw on the stock servo fits perfectly into the spline, this means non servo savers to look for and non weird screw sizes like in Hitek micro Servos= DIRECT FIT
This is the servo: http://www.savoxtech.com.tw/sh-0257.htm

Actually the only mod to do ,in order to have it perfectly fitted,is a 1,5/2mm. shave on the servo plastic holder cause the servo case size is slightly larger, nothing hard to do.
I cannot find the picture anymore but here's a link of a thread i started in another Forum in wich you can see the Savox servo fitted in the chassis.

Looks like that servo is the exact same as this one. I really wanted to get this one so now that I know it fits I guess I'll go with it. Comes from the USA, too, which is a plus, assuming you live here.
Is the 2mm you have to shave off on the sides of the servo holder or on the inside top?

Default short course build

I am building a sc18 for the short course nationals at RC Madness. I started with a rc18t2 kit and will run the narrow buggy wheels all around increasing ground clearance. This should help put the truck close to the slash and the duratrax trucks in being able to handle large jumps and ruts. I will power this with Novak three-80 sensored motor for smooth power to the ground and Tekin RS speed control, with this combo I can tune the motor for track conditions. The Tekin is small enough to fit nicely, just like it does on my Scalpel chassis. I will add a Airtronic servo, hot racing steering assembly, associated long axle ends attached to cvds. Also installed FT rc18 rear shocks
to both ends, this helps with ground clearance and handling roughh tracks. I will have to cut out the wheel wells to accomendate the larger wheels. With the larger wheels the starting pinion size goes to 10 or 11 from 13 for the bigger wheels. All the parts should be here by the end the week so test and tune can start asap, July is just around the corner. Will post picture of chassis as soon as it is rolling. thanks. feel free ask question.

Default Running hot

Wow, these guys run hot. Went through a 1600mah pack in 12 min and the motor was so hot the sticker melted.

I'm soaking the belts in WD40 tonight and loosening the tensioner. Drilled a hole to view gear engagement. Anything else needed to free it up a little more. Was planning on keeping these stock, but look like we may need to go brushless.

i've loosened the belt tensioner in mine, powered with 2S 1800mAh 35C Hyperions and a Tekin 6900kv motor. I've tried to set up the tensioner several times but when i found the smmother set up the belt stripped after half a dozen packs, the motor runs warmer than before but it still gets on 90°C .Now i got a spare tensioner and new belts but i'm not so sure about the proper way to tune the whole thing.

The rules have been made and out for a while now. They are not going to change.

Finally got an SC18 and I'm loving it! I swapped out the stock electronics for a Futaba 3PM system and Mamba Micro Pro/5400.

Default Tx batteries

The manual says that the XP3-SS can take lipo batteries as well as AA. Does anyone know what lipo batteries will fit?

The Reedy #633 and #632 will fit but you will have to remove the plug from the AA battery tray and install it on the battery.
