Default Jr-R1 with mini-z asf module?

Does anyone know how to convert the KO 2.4ghz ASF module so it will work with a Jr-R1 radio? Some help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think any conversion is needed, that radio is essentially the same as the KO EX-10, it should plug right in.

I can't say for sure, but I was pretty sure the spektrum module transferred since my friend switched from the KO to the R1 and didn't have to buy a new module. Its possible KO did something size wize to make it not fit the R1?

You're right, it is a pretty old radio but I would hate to get rid of it.

I would look at the circuit diagram on the bottom of the page.
http://mini-z-guide.com/radio.htm
Use volt meter to check for + and grd. Use oscilloscope to check for the signal pin. If you don't have an oscilloscope, you might want to put the volt meter on lower setting, and detect which pin gave some readout. Once you figure out which pin is what, then rewire the connector inside the module. Chances are it will work.

the module case has a different footprint. You may have to trim the pcb for the module as well....
the best way to make it work would be by making a piggyback cable from the tx to rx and then using velcro to hold the module on....

Since it is possible to solder the ASF module to Futaba 4PK would it be the same with 4PL and Sanwa MT-4?

Have anyone seen it? Or know of the wires diagram?

Thanks

I've seen a 3pk conversion and also a m-11 conversion on the mini z racer forum. You can Frankenstein one, For sure. The question is why? You can get a decent ex-10 or JR z-1 for less than $100. Hll, you can get a ko Mars ex1 for $50. It has the same functions as the r1.
