Talking TEK18T - 542 grams of beast!!

Here ya got Mike..club mates TEK18T (mine aint done yet)...this is a killer if you ask me, i had the chanse to test the car, and i am stunned!! it took a few packs to get the new setup..and what a setup then!.

542 gram race ready with:

Novak mongoose system (8.5T) 14T/57T
Sanwa 2.5ghz Rx (big heavy)
CS lipo harcase

Temp on this one aint over 40deg celsius on motor, and it is screaming fast, and how it handels, it handles the bumps/jumps better then the Shark ST. We have some serious protip later on the shock.. Running 56mm Foams, maximum Drop

This is ART!!

Hope you guys can help me as have an AE RC18T and was looking at getting the new updated beltdrive 2 version but have now seen the new TEK18t kit as didnt consider before as old layout I didnt like but new one looks good.
anyway how good is this kit or should I wait for the new AE kit as run indoors on carpet with some small jumps and get smoked by the XRays as they have so much more low speed steering as I cant get any more turning out of mine due to ball ends hitting gearbox so does the TEK fix this? and also find the current car squirally under brakes...so longer wheelbase may sort this to? as I have a nice Hitec servo, brushless/lipo setup with MIP diffs/cvds ,rpm arms etc on current car so would put these on TEK kit..help is appreciated. Thanks.

If you want more stable low speed cornering, check these out:
http://exotekracing.com/EXOTEK_NEWS/...OR_BLOCKS.html

They give you 6 degrees of castor on a flat chassis and 12 degrees on the TEK's. The Exotek also has upgraded steering rack that removes slop. You wont be disappointed in the Exotek chassis. I have 6 of them.

Just got the AE TEK18T Conversion and was building up last night and read that they say not to use any alloy arms or shock towers and I have the alloy ae towers and is it a major issue using them?..great kit by the way

ALSO: the alloy rear toe block that comes with the kit..what degree toe is it and is it the way to go as have some alloy 1.5 and 3.0 ones to use.
Thanks.

Hi,

We always suggest non alloy arms and shock towers because in a crash the stock plastic arms and towers will absorb the impact whereas alloy parts cannot and will direct the force impact into the hinge pin holders and nylon bulkhead which can rip apart. It's just a precaution though.

The stock kit rear toe is 2.5 degrees. Good for rear on power traction.

Thanks for your support!

I'm trying to decide which exotek chassis to go with. Can the new style stick pack tek18t hang with the tek18x chassis. Everyone runs the x chassis at my track but i would like to try the new chassis if it can keep up.

thanks.
not sure on rims they are just 10th scale I think and using 10th adapters I got.....but the tyres are schumacher sst rally 25 that were old stock at a local Hobby store and are super low profile...use them on carpet and have some AE foams coming to try.
