I recently put my roller together, still waiting on some electronics (HW Mini 28, RX, battery). Really excited. I think this will be a great kit to grow into coming out of a mini-z chassis. Also, really hoping parts support for this car is a lot better than some of the other brands at the LHS.

Wild guess, 64pitch?
Low tooth 64pitch Pinions with a 2mm bore will be tricky to find.
The 64 pitch pinion set from refex racing would be a good place to start.

They should have called it the RC28L for nostalgia’s sake.

Other than that, I think that they could have taken cues from the 2nd generation A-arm suspension developed for the RC10L to apply to this car. Given the advances made in composites and how versatile that front end was, it might be a game changer for this chassis down the road if it proves popular.

My buddy put a mini z track in his garage and I am building the rc28r for him. He wants a 12th scale type body. I see plenty of lexan bodies out there but I do not mount onroad bodies well enough. Is there a hard case body out there that exists? Any help would be appreciated

Hard case? Not sure what you are looking for. I think the wedge/LMP bodies look funny on 1/28th, all are too big.

Thank you for the reply. i was referring to a hard body like the Jomurema bodies and yes the LMP/Wedge bodies are compressed and don't fit well. He wants that look and was seeing what option there are out there other than lexan. again thank you for the response

Closest thing is probably a 102mm scale LMP body, but that would be long for a RC28.

FYI, zero offset wheels do not appear to fit in the rear as they run into the stock gear differential, squeezing the diff and locking it up. Pictured below are a Reflex Racing zero offset wheel and a Nexx +1.

I could be wrong here. I think I remember The 'L' on the older RC10L etc.. was actually because Gil Losi was on the design of it. Probably could not use it now.

I might be wrong.

Maybe Mosler MT900? one of the more supercar/wedge shaped hard bodies and its a natural 98mm fit.

Finally got the body painted up. Went with the new 720S GT3 body from Kyosho for stock touring 2500kv class.

In my opinion this kit could replace the GLR as the first lipo kit to get after mr03-04 box stock class in order to compete in 2500kv, and before dumping too many $$$ into high end kits like reflex or xbility.

I was impressed by SJRacing video being 2 tenths faster with RC28 than with atomic MRX. I would like to see RC28 compared to GLR, or to higher end car like RTRC RTA or reflex racing (i do not know the models lol)
