Yes thanks, that's what I meant. Not looking forward to remove them from the rim. I don't have the buggy yet, will pick one up in about 2 weeks. Maybe by then they will sell those tires separately from the rims. It seems top secret information to find out the rim size of the Jrx2 mini compared to the mini B. You'd think they would just put it in the specs that they release

Why losi.... why???
Why not just rere the jrx2 with the xx gearbox?
rere some retro hopups to get the fun going... like:
-Pro shocktowers and shocks
-pro h arms
-hydra drive
I would spend coin on a rere...

I think the ultimate thing the HydraDrive did was to add rotating mass to the drive train. They were a pain to maintain and liked to leak but they were also a big flywheel which helped to smooth out the power delivery. In theory, the Hydra unit had the opposite response as the slipper. Slippers have the most friction before they slip (static coefficient of friction vs kinetic) and a fluid drive with have more drive with more slip (just think about trying to push you hand through water at different speeds). I don't know which of the things actually made it work but it was somewhat useful on slippery tracks although you paid for it with run time.

so they were like having a torque converter between the spur and slipper (?)

The Topic of Hydra-drives came up a few times for me the past couple weeks so I dug this out:
And yes the added rotating mass is pretty considerable. Between the viscous coupling effect, the rotating mass and being able to loosen the slipper to comically loose it really does help smooth out the throttle on lose/rough surfaces. It was really a innovation of the times. I actually heard some folk are using these for Drag racing, not sure how effective it is for that though, I'd be afraid of melting the poor thing.
