I think its reading the overall times. Instead of seconds into mins and seconds.

Just take the Tim and divide by 60 and it will give u mins and seconds.
Example 328s÷60=5.46 witch is 5:46s

My January entry, still running the F-1 as it's setup a bit better for the smaller track compared to my GLR. I hope to have a bunch of upgrades for it this Wednesday which should help things even more. I wanted to have more practice with it but had electronics problems. I put the new GL Sensored ESC in it and it worked well for a week or so. Then it started bugging out and then stopped working altogether. Thought it was the receiver and got a replacement from a nice guy at the club. That worked for about 5 seconds, I turned it off and then it never worked again...... So it's back to the original ESC which isn't great but works well enough.

** Updated the entry 1/30 after installing the upgrades. I also fixed up the steering link so I could increase the overall travel. These factors plus concentrating really hard lead to dropping over 35 seconds from the total runtime. Fastest lap wasn't much better (only 2 tenths) but a whole lot more consistent.

Glad you are joining us.

Here are some answers for you.

1. Yes, you can change out the FETs on the board in any class except Box Stock.

2. I would be fine with you taking a stock silver can motor and drilling it for fasteners but I think pulling the rotor out of a stock motor and putting it in another case is not in the spirit of the Stock Class.

While I am sure the Mini96 track will be significantly smaller than what the Kyosho Nationals will be run on I would think a lot of what you learn will be transferable. and be helpful with both your driving as well as set up.

Cheers,
Jim

Thanks Jim, I'll try to drill one of my silver can motor and follow the guideline. Hopefully I can take part in this competition.

January Results

Hello All,
Here are the results for the January running of the M96WC. January saw a number of new drivers join us which is great to see, I feel that we are gaining traction slowly but surely and it is great to seen times dropping as folks get more attuned to their cars and the circuit. Keep in mind that the more you run the faster you will get so keep turning in those laps and watch your progression.

As far as the circuit goes I think it was a good one this month and proved to be fast, we had times that have never been seen before in the M96WC, I am not sure how much of that is the track and how much is just good old car set up and practice but there were some impressive lap times. I also think the track was fairly technical, the right to left transition in the infield proved to be tricky, at least for me. I had a hard time getting all my cars and my fingers set up to handle the quick transition well and not unsettle the balance of the car.

After the dust cleared here is how we ended up:

Box Stock-
2nd
- LJH 346.6s Race Time/ 4.12s Fast Lap
1st- Traveler- 337.8s Race Time/4.08s Fast Lap

Stock- I just have to say that some seriously impressive times were put down in the stock class Between Traveler and Scionara.
3rd- LJH- 325.5s Race Time/ 3.87s Fast Lap
2nd- Traveler- 298.57 Race Time/ 3.58s Fast Lap
1st- Scionara- 293.06s Race Time/ 3.49s Fast Lap

Super Stock-
1st-
LJH- 312.4s Race Time/ 3.79s Fast Lap

Open AWD-
1st-
Scionara 301.41s Race Time/ 3.47s Fast Lap

Open RWD-
3rd-
Tomthegeek- 362.86s Race Time/ 4.46s Fast Lap
2nd- LJH- 308.6s Race Time/ 3.62s Fast Lap
1st- Scionara 291.41s Race Time/ 3.53s Fast Lap

FTM- Scionara with a 3.47s lap with his Open AWD car. What I find amazing is just how close the the Stock Class cars were to taking the FTM, it just goes to show you what you can do with a well developed car and skills.

If I have made any mistakes let me know and I will make the appropriate corrections.

Lets see what we can do in February.

Cheers,
Jim

NB,
As said the results are posted at the end of the month. If you want to see what other competitors are doing during the month you will just have to sift through the posts, keep in mind that the fastest time is the top posting in someone class results so that makes it easier to see what the fast time are.

Cheers,
Jim

I know.....I was just running my GLR and after a full pack just starting to make it around the circuit without hitting a wall every 2 feet.....but I was not fast.

What does not kill you will make you faster......LOL.

Cheers,
Jim

lol I read this the wrong way and could not figure out why 325s was better than 296s...

Fast CCW

As suspected, I think my preference is CCW. I ran three back to back 75 lap runs with my box stock car (346.8, 352.1 and 327.5) and I'm already 10 seconds faster than by best Jan clockwise time. Look out!
