Hi, I'm new to the mini 96 world challenge. If this is not the proper forum to ask questions please send me in the correct direction. I ordered a mini 96 track from Amain Hobby's and a Kyosho MR-04 EVVO2 Mini Z W-MM Brushless Chassis with w/V2 Gyro, 8500 kv motor ( already realized that was incorrect motor ). Disregard wrong motor as I will fix that what class is this kit? Also I have both a Spectrum DXR6 and a Spectrum iXSR+ DSMR+ transmitters, can I use these if I find a compatible receiver. I contacted MXO Racing about their EVO Spectrum RC compatible receiver but they said they do not have a receiver that will work,. I don't know if its because of the MR-04 EVVO2 or the iXSR+ transmitter, I did not ask about my DX6R.
Respectfully, LeeU |

Respectfully, LeeU As far as class a MR04 EVO can fit into either stock with a kyosho 4100kv and autoscale hardbody, pro stock with a 5600kv motor and autoscale hardbody, or open 2ws. |
Thank you for the reply. My track is delayed for some reason halfway to Abq I ordered two stock bodies to play with, If I run stock can I use the EVO2 and my DX6R as I did find a reviver from Wolf Man? If anyone is interested it is a

Welcome LeeU11!
With a EVO Chassis you could be in any class EXCEPT BoxStock. All classes except Open require a hard body, but lexan windows and roofs are ok. The updated rules and classes are on Page 227 post# 3398, or in the featured tab of the Facebook page. This is the Official home of the Challenge, but alot chat about Challenge stuff on the Facebook page. Sorry, I don't know about your radio, but I hope you get it figured! That's one of the toughest things about learning this scale and Mini Zs in particular! All the different protocols over the years. 🙄 By the time you get your track it will probably be close to the end of rhe month. We will be running the standard Mini96 Layout for May/June, SMOOTH side up, ClockWise first in May. So if you want to start on that layout, you can get some extra practice, but we would be HAPPY to have you run the current layout and post, just wanted to let you know. Also the Autoscale bodies are great, but a Jomurema is awesome to learn with. Very plain looking, but smooth and stable. Again WELCOME, and holler with anything! |
How many tracks
Thank you for welcoming me in. So how many different tracks are there. I see on page 1 second post there are 4 (A,B,C,D)
Thanks LeeU 111 |
The reason I asked is I want to make a foldable track that folds against a wall in my garage when not in use. I read on Face book that ya'll try to keep the tracks to 12' X 8 ' , that would be perfect.

There are a lot of layouts, often new but there are only so many ways to make a track with these pieces so eventually some repeat. Layouts always change every other month, we run clockwise then switch to counter the second month. New layouts will be listed here and on the Facebook group. The layouts always fitting in the same footprint since some people only have room for that size of track. I think Andy said we are going to run the standard layout (what is shown on the product listings for the Mini96) next month.

LeeU11,
Yes, we keep our layouts to 12x8 tiles, and i have planned a folding platform for my track too, as mine is in my Son's old room (he's 31)so I wouldn't have to take it up when he's here. The thing i have to get around is building it strong enough to walk on to flip a overturned, while light enough to be able to easily pivot up out of the way. As for how many layouts can be made in 12x8, I'm not smart enough to figure it out 😜 I try to keep the main straight, well straight, without quick kinks, as they can be body killers! I also ask for yall to post up the layouts you want to try and we can vote on the next layout. I use zround track designer to design layouts. It works well, where their timing software is too complicated for me to get working like I want. I use NextLevel Timing Software, and it's very good and plug and play of the most part. |

Last few days of the month!!
Have your runs done by midnight 4/30 and posted by midnight on the 3rd and I'll tally on the 4th. Have fun and Drive Fast! |
I have been working on CAD files for a foldable track. It will most likely be expensive (1200 to 1400) and weigh in around 440 lbs. I will post free build drawings, cut sheets and a materials list as soon as I get them done. It most likely will be 48" x 96" x 1" sq Aluminum frames (3 each) bolted together with .50 inch birch plywood as a base. I have no place in my home I can permanently set up a track as my wife rules the inside of the house, but I rule the garage lol. Why am I thinking about something this crazy?? I want to be able to go run when I have a few minutes, all I would have to do is back two of my cars out of one of my bays and lower the track down with a small winch with the back of the track being hinged at the wall.
