This option would not personally work for me. I am limited in my ability to get the track set up and do laps, especially think time of the year, so if we were to do both direction in a month there would be a good chance that I could not run both series.

I ran the standard Mini-96 set up for months and kept improving so I did not get bored. With that said it is nice to run different circuits but I find I need all of the time I can get to get to the point where I am consistently running fast laps. I also like testing and tuning where I will just spend an hour or two trying different things so that eats up time as well.

If you can get enough time in on the circuit where you feel you are fast and want to switch it up then you will have an advantage when we get to that circuit.....I can also get your input on different layouts that you like.

With that said we will stick with the current format.

I also have time and storage issues.
I don't have a room for this, so I have to use my livingroom.
So I guess I can't even do more than a 1 or max 2 stints a month.

Jim, what's the setup on you 90mm car? Both my box stock 90mm cars bounce a lot. I'm running PN super soft blue springs in front and relatively soft t-plates in rear.

My SWB car (86/90mm) is my "stock" (PN70) car. In the rear I am running an Old Atomic Aluminum RM motor mount, Kyosho MZW216 dampener, and a Kenon #3 Carbon T-Plate (MR3005). I have found that it is fastest running the disks pretty much dry but I did sand them with 1200 grit paper. This T-Plate is pretty stiff vertically but pretty soft in roll but after trying different plates I always come back to this one.

In the front I am running reversed King Pins with MZW416 Inner Tube front suspension with a tiny bit of 10wt shock oil.

As I mentioned when I run this car with the 90mm bodies I run a wide front and on the GT3 I run 0mm offset wheels all around, narrow in front and wide in the rear.

When I first started running this car at short wheel bases it was pretty darn bouncy so I started looking at ways to calm it down and the MZW216 helped. I also had a pretty bad issue with traction rolling. I did a bunch of reading and tried a bunch of stuff. I run the most worn set of front tires I have, I lowered the front end about .2mm, which also resulted in less camber curve, and found a cheap set of Kenon "Low Down" knuckles (MR3032). I can now drive the GT3 and GT1 as hard as I want with zero traction rolling issues on my Mini-96 track.

I just received a Porsche 934 body so I am going to convert over to 86mm and a narrow front end, the set up will remain the same with the exception of using the Atomic MR03-017-2N which increases the caster. To be honest I have always been a bit confused with how caster works but it has something to do with the camber change as the wheels steer, but EMU suggested going this route.I have not run any 86mm bodies since I pretty much eliminated the traction roll issue with the 90mm bodies so I am interested in seeing how they go.

Hi Jim, I figured I'd ask what layout you'll be using on the smooth side for the next iteration? my track should arrive and be set up in the next couple weeks, and I might as well set it up once rather than configure it one way and then have to redo it.

So.....It looks like August was not a great month for running the M96WC, I know for me personally we had plans pretty much every weekend, I then had a week of travel for work and then 10 days of vacation so I did not get to turn a single lap in August.

With that said if any of you guys want to post times for August get them in and I will do the official rankings.

With that said I think September will see increased participation. It sounds like we have a couple new guys who have purchased tracks and I think it is time to go to the smooth side, I can think of at least 4 guys who said they will join if the M96WC was run smooth side up. Hoping this change will get us close to double digits for participation......fingers crossed. PLease feel free to spread the word, I will post this on the different groups on FaceBook but if any of you guys are on social media platforms please feel free to get the word out, the more people we have participating the more fun we will have.

I also started playing with ZRound track designer which is a free program and pretty easy to figure out once I spent a few minutes with it. For the time being we will stick with the 8X12 plan-form as I believe this will work for everyone. Below if the track for September, this circuit will be run on the SMOOTH Side and run in a clockwise direction.

I am looking forward to getting some laps in and see the difference between running the smooth side compared to the rough side. I am also looking forward to getting some laps in on my newly built GLR.

I really like the look of this layout, and I started re-configuring my Mini-96, but don't have enough straights to make it work with one Mini-96 kit. I'm short 4 straights. Anyone else have this issue?

Hmmmmm........Now that I have counted squares I see what you mean, sorry about that. I figured if it fit in the same "box" it would be fine but that was not the case. I have amended the September circuit and we should be good now. Sorry for the confusion.

I spent a good two hours today switching from the rough to the smooth side, I wiped the track down with a damp cloth and I am good to go. We are out and about tomorrow but plan on setting up the circuit on Monday. The better half is out of town most of the week so I should be able to get some good running in. After not running for a good 6 weeks I a excited to get some laps in, I am also stoked to check out my new GLR.

Not sure how many of you follow the Facebook groups but this month post on the various groups got way more feedback then any in the past.....hoping good things for participation. Again if any of you are on different social media platforms please feel free to share.......I am only on Facebook and do not plan on venturing out onto others.

Thanks Jim! I got the September layout down (too bad your original design didn't work) and I've started running some practice laps. I too am excited to run on the Mini-96 again, but running clockwise is proving to be a bit of a challenge. My natural inclination is to run counter clockwise, but I like alternating direction every month so I don't have to rotate my tires...

Well just put this down and started running some laps and 5250 kg in a 4wd is a handful lol. My 2wd mr03 now with 64p gears is completely different car I got to get use to the power band now. Hopefully I'll get some times in this week for awd box stock and 70 comp
