Free o-rings!
I’ve run a few more packs through the buggy with the sealed diffs, and they seem to be working pretty well. I have updated the guide.
I’ll mail a few O-rings and the paper gasket pattern to the first couple of people who ask. Just PM me your US address, and be sure to post back how well it works for you! |
Diff grease
I used synthetic car grease in front diff, and regular car grease in rear diff. The synthetic grease is like honey, making front diff tighter. The regular grease is like butter, making rear diff looser then front. I'll send you a PM and try the o-ring setup.

Spring rates
It can be hard to figure out the harder springs from the soft ones from the way they are labeled, so I made this chart.
Long black 2.92 lbs Short black 2.58 lbs Orange 2.45 lbs Blue 2.25 lbs Silver 2.10 lbs Yellow 1.85 lbs Red 1.50 lbs This is the amount of weight it took to fully compress the spring. Not sure that's how springs are rated, but that's how I got these numbers. |

Anybody know what neutral range does as one of the settings with the esc? Options are 9% 6% 12% and work state.

Not sure it will fit. Would you know how to get the size of this motor? |

Well nothing ventured nothing gained. Here is what I found after getting the "1/14" motor in the mail today...
24mm diameter and 38mm of effective length. The black part on the end seems to be solely for the sensor plug. Not exactly what I was hoping for lol http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/800...924/15Ukzk.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/800...922/GMXVxD.jpg |
proliteandsc, I've used your length and weight data to make a table of all the Dromida springs, how to identify them, and what their spring rate is.

That motor is big. Has anyone installed it into a dromida? If so. Do I need to modify anything?

Neutral range determines how sensitive the trigger is. The lower the number the quicker car responds to the initial movement of the trigger.

Great thread. Thanks to the OP for an awesome job compiling the info. I have a brushed Rally and now I'm looking forward to doing something with it.

On a first test run, it pulls real well on 2S with a 12T pinion. Looking forward to gearing it up :-) It fits fine if you put the ESC on the chassis brace. It has 2.5mm mounting holes that fit in the stock motor mount with the stock screws. It also has 2mm holes that fit in the alternate location of the stock mount. It requires 1/8” (3.125mm) pinion gears, which are available from Robinson Racing. Or you can carefully drill out a Dromida 2mm pinion. I plan to eventually upgrade to a Mamba Micro X ESC to use the hybrid sensored/sensorless mode, but it is running great sensorless right now. Here’s how it fits: https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rct...cd6c68522.jpeg |
