Well the castle motor is like $10 more than the stock motor. But for reason it's smaller lol. I know i know.

it's personal preference.

racerstar esc went out I believe in the mt today. It last ran perfect before i wiped her off tossed on the shelf a cpl days ago. For sime reason now when i throttle it, it goes "eh eh eh eh eh eh" moving a cm for every "eh" lol if that explains anything. Motor has never gotten hot and the shaft turns easy like always. Not sure about the esc temps though, I always forget to check. Tried resetting esc, don't
think you can. This ever happen to you?

Probably a bad solder joint on one of the motor or esc connectors. Happened to me before and thats what fixed it resoldering one of the plugs. Basically though a bad connection somewhere. Of course the esc or the motor could be bad. Easy way to tell test both with your sons brushless motor and esc. You can't reset the esc.

Hey guys, I couldn't sleep tonight and read through this whole thread. I myself have several Dromida's ever since TowerHobbies started selling them on their scratch & dent section years ago. Just one note on the worries on the Dromida line going away and parts being scarce, FS Racing is the Chinese OEM for Hobbico so you should still be able to get parts from overseas if Dromida ever does get discontined. You can actually buy a whole brushed SCT or the Buggy for $50 shipped on Banggood....and Aliexpress carries a large amount of parts (mostly aluminum upgrades) and they are dirt cheap. Just search for "1/18 FS Racing".
TIME MACHINE likes this.

I think the dromida line is gonna be around for a while. But it's good to know other companies besides hot racing are making parts for them.

I have a mt and bx, my son has a dt. We cant pull them out without my yongest daugher getting in on the action. Been thinking about picking here one up to. I'l check out banggood for sure, thanks

Somehow or another my esc started working again a cpl days ago. Sweet! Although I decided to throw in a hobbywing esc and am now ready for 3s, well, I'll keep an eye on the motor temps for sure.

so I'm looking to pick up a 3s lipo. If I'm going up in cells, do I have to go with a lower mah so it still fits?

what 3 batteries do you recommend that fit? Thanks again

3s lipo pic in post #6 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Venom-15024-20C-11-1V-1300mAh-3S-LiPo-Battery-1-16-Slash-E-Revo-Summit-VXL/200962177652?epid=1101471196&hash=item2eca477a74:g :sEQAAOSwcu5URcCo

3s lipo pic in post #11 (the one I use but got it cheaper on ebay) this one fits in my rc18s, Dromidas and Teton https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1pcs-Lion-Power-11-1V-1300MAH-25C-MAX-30C-AKKU-LiPo-RC-Battery-For-Rc-Helicopter/32840877312.html?ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb 201602_3_10152_10709_10151_10065_10344_10130_10068 _10324_10342_10547_10325_10546_10343_10340_10548_1 0341_10545_10697_10696_10084_10083_10618_10710_103 07_10059_308_100031_10103_441_10624_10623_10622_10 621_10620,searchweb201603_25,ppcSwitch_3&algo_ expid=7684acf1-ea0e-4c5a-8e9c-342d5cbd7167-16&algo_pvid=7684acf1-ea0e-4c5a-8e9c-342d5cbd7167&transAbTest=ae803_1&priceBeau tifyAB=0

3s lipos that are designed to fit in the 1/16 mini revo should fit as well. Mount a 3s lipo with velcro and your choices can open up a little. Battery post to post is about 102mm. I would not go higher than 20mm or wider than 35mm if you want it to fit in the chassis and silde a little under the chassis brace.

Hey thanks bud! Probably gonna order one soon. I do like the idea of the different adapters that come with venom.

2435 mt update : finally took out a tooth in one of the gears in my rear diff. Replaced gear, and the 500k diff fluid witg 100k. Still don' see it leaking. Just had a cpl bad bearings. New set on the way. Other than that, everything seems to be holding up. Still on plastic drive shaft(maybe not for long once I go 3s), went back to plastic dogbones in the front till my wl toys steel axles arrive.
