540 motor is the size of motor, but from that alone I couldnt tell you if its brushless or not. However, if you look at the motor, there is an easy way to tell.

brushed motors have 2 big wires coming from them to the speed control, brushless will always have 3 big wires, and a small group of sensor wires if it is a sensored motor.
