You know, that isn't entirely out of the question. The last SC10 I had was the original FT, and it was really dialed...I just had a love/hate relationship with the truck bodies and moved on to racing buggies. My 10.2 is actually converted to an SCB (man I hate the SC bodies lol) but next time i'm at the track I will look and see if they have the old stuff laying around to give it a shot! Worth a try for sure. I'll try anything once lol. Thanks for the tip! What kind of track do you run?

There are still a few things I want to try but ran out of time.
I am going to try the following tomorrow:
    Cavalieri shootout setup with....
Green rear springs with 27.5wt AE fluid with same 2x1.6 flat pistons
    (tried black rear springs...too soft)
Red front springs with 35wt AE fluid and 2x1.5 flat pistons
(may fine tune with 32.5wt fluid it feels too stiff)

Trying to get the front and rear to feel balanced at this point.
Once I get this setup dialed for my track I will look into the correct Kyosho springs to try out.

Because I didn't have the red springs to test, I tried moving the top shocks back out on the shock tower to the 3rd hole out to firm up the front end some. I also wanted to see how the effect of moving the top shock location would effect the handling/steering. I went back out on the track and immediately was .5sec per lap slower on average. I have to say that even on a medium traction track, the 4th hole front and rear works (new #1 hole on setup sheet). I would have not really noticed the difference had I not had the lap counter on to see the actual difference in fast and consistent lap times.

One issue I did have was jumping a big triple we have. Normally my truck would want to flip over on it's rear end if I didn't get out of the throttle at the middle of the face. Now the truck wanted to flip the rear end over the front. The rear of the truck felt stiffer than the front on the table so this was more than likely the issue.

We had timed practice last night.
Track was watered for our racing conditions.
I tested Cavalieri's setup sans red front springs.
Honestly, I thought that the red springs would be too stiff and the yellows would be just right for our med traction watered track. I also thought the White rear springs would be too stiff too but I started with this anyway.
I reset the ride height to 30mm rear and 31mm front.
Truck felt good. The first thing I noticed was that the truck did not have as much roll in the turns which was good. I still had excellent turn in and exit on steering. It was not a huge difference but the truck did not feel as on edge. I was able to get my lap times down in the 21.2 to 21.4 lap times consistently. I could hit those lap times before but not as consistently.

I swapped out the tapered pistons for 2x1.5 flat fronts and 2x1.6 flat rear.
Started with AE 35wt front and 30wt rear shock fluid.
Yellow front springs and White rear.
I wanted to try the red front springs but my shop was out of them. Getting them tomorrow to try at our Tues. races.

I also rebuilt my ball diff to make sure this did not have any impact on my testing.
I setup my diff so I can turn the tires by hand and they spin easy but the diff does not bark or slip. If I adjust too tight the truck will have issues on traction and want to step out.

Last week I tested and liked the Grey front springs with Green rears. This was with the tapered pistons. While the truck can run some fast lap times with this setup at my track, it is twitchy and tough for me to run consistent lap times. The truck is very active and I find myself driving on edge. Part of this comes from running the tapered pistons.

The tapered pistons let the suspension drop too fast. Another fast driver commented that I needed more internal limiters but I was running 4 up front and 2 in the back. I scrapped that setup an decided to try Cavalieri's setup that he ran at our track (Hotrod Hobbies) for the shootout 2 weeks ago. While they ran the shootout on blue groove and we run our club racing on wet to drying conditions, I figured all I would have to do is soften it up a little. His setup is the same as what I was running previously except for how his shocks are setup and tower locations. I drilled the shock towers for the 4th hole front and rear.

Sorry for delay in getting back to you. I was out of town and just got back.
I am still testing different setups.
I have not tried the Kyosho springs yet.
I am trying to find a good balance front and rear with the AE springs so I know what wt F/R Kyosho springs to try.

I have a SC10.2 to. I have it pretty dialed in and drive good. There are two guys at my local track who I can't beat unless they wreck. They average about 22.8 seconds a lap and me about 23 or 23.1 so I'm right there, normally finish about 6-8 seconds behind them in a 6 minute race.

I noticed you posted your setup and mine is pretty close. I have heard a lot of good things about kyosho shocks and springs but haven't researched them enough. Noticed you mentioned them. Which springs work on the 10.2 and what shocks would work? Thanks
