so sorry I haven't repsonded. Been too busy with work to keep up with everything. As far as the clutch thing goes.....It's very touchy. Use the 20kg spring or the good ole standby..the orion square spring. I recommend only the green from Edam, but if you need to utilize another brand, I have found that the old red rulon shoes do pretty good. The more utilized yellow shoes that are out there now will be too soft. As for settings, the manual is close, but you need to maintain an excellent log for consistency sake. Small corrections to spring tension/adjuster nut depth and "gap" as with all clutches are most critical. Keeping the thrust bearing well lubed with a grease etc is a must. Hope this helps. Keep in mind, that traction, motor performance, and temp will affect your clutch.

You need to come to the Great Lake Challenge in Toledo this year and represent Edam. It would be very cool to have a team driver present for the event.

    Matt,
Any advice on setup for the Edam centax clutch? Phil & I both are having difficulty getting a setup that works and also will last and not eat up clutch shoes for lunch. I can get the clutch to work really well but its just eating up clutch shoes, we are going off of the settings in the Razor manual.

sounds like your already heading in the right direction. Definetly keep doing whatever you're doing. You might find some Mugen aluminum axles to help with rotational weight. gearing is dependent on motor. camber/caster/toe and roll center is based on what turning you need. practice like you race and don't be afraid to try some thing drastic in order to see an obvious change. Then you can back off of that change little by little.

    Matt,
I starting racing on-road last year using the Edam Razor 2, Hitcharide1 hooked me into racing. Any chance you could share a basic racing setup sheet, I want to make sure that I'm atleast in the ballpark on adjustments. I race in the One Eighth Racers of Toledo Club and we have a great smooth track. I started out slow being new and all I think I was running 30 sec laps very slow compared to everyone else, I finished running in the low 22sec mark a much improvement. I need to get down to around the 18sec mark to be competitive, which a lot of that just has to do with track time and I can see the improvements with more track time. I just want to make sure that I'm not completely of target with my setup. Anything you can share would be much appreciated.

    Thanks,

Hello, do you still have MRX-3 parts by any chance? I need front pulleys for an MRX-2 actually, but they should be interchangeable correct?

James- also sorry for the delay in reply. I have not had a chance to get the list together, but Edam does have a conversion kit now. I just looked, but it appears as thought there isn't a part number.

Ol Skool- sorry about the delay in reply. SA is not going to be in the SWCS this year. We are having an extremely difficult time finding a host facility for the race/races.
