Default LBA-10 Balancer

Hi Jason,

just wondering if the LBA-10 Balancer you sell comes with the leads required to connect to your LiPo batteries. if not can you advise which ones i need to buy. also i have read on another forum that you may need to upgrade the wiring on the balancer as they aren't made to have 3A running through them and can get very warm... please advise. thanks.

The LBA-10 comes with two bannana plugs to plug into the charger. The tap plug is hyperion/Apache. The wire that goe to the battery to be charged are bare. This is where you need to solder on a Deans, Tamiya, or whatever connector you are using. I have never heard of heat issues with the LBA-10 so I don't know what to tell you there.

Hi Jason,

with the LBA10, it says it can do 6 cells.. is the number of stacks i.e. 2S is 2 cell? or the P number? i was told 1P is equal to 3 cells.. so i am a bit confused?

The 2s is the cell count s cells in a pack. The LBA-10 will do up to a 6S pack, which is 6 individaul cells stacked together in one pack.

Jason,

Instead of opening up a new thread, i'll just post in here.

I have just received my 6000 7.4 and i got the LBA10 as well. Today i attempted its first charge, only to get an error message on my charger, stating "open circuit, battery disconnect etc". I have tried numerous times, no luck. Right now its on the charger without the balancer, charging fine.

Faulty balancer or tap wire connections, thoughts?

TIA

Follow the connection process to the "T". Make sure the "Network" Switch is set to "Master"
Connect the "Balance" Tap and within 12 seconds connect the Main pack Connector
Now Push The "Mode/Reset" button once

The LED should now blink in one second intervals.

Now start the charge sequence

Let me know if this works or not for you.

If this doesn't help let me know what charger your using.

I'm not yet familiar with that charger. But it sounds like it is doing the same thing that the Triton does. I'm going to look at the Chargers instructions and see if I can find anything. You can still use the LBA-10 as a stand alone balancer. I'll be back in a few.

I'm not impressed with that charger at all. I could not find anything in there about using in conjunction with a balancer of any type or brand. If your pack is charging fine with the main lead then that connection is fine. Next take and try to balance the pack with the LBA-10 by its self. If that works then you have an issue with the Charger and the balancer not communicating with each other. I would suggest contacting The Charger Manufacturer and asking them what the issue might be.

Keep me informed........

KoukiS14, it was nice to be able to help. The phone is sometimes easier than trying to explain thru typing. Get me some video of that hot rod as soon as you can.

GDAY Jason
Just recived my package from your guys, 4s 4000mah and LBA10
cart note says wait an extra week for saddel pack, cheers no prob.
It got here faster than some other gear from hong kong (that i orderd 3 days before and still waiting)

Question. out of the box using Deans plugged in lipo to LBA10 taps leads, then PWR wires,,,
on the LBA10 both leds (a123 and lipo) flash 12 times, then the STATUS led starts to flash 4 times,,,, the instruction says this means error,,or is this shut down mode as well.
I have tried it a few times using the mode button.. but no change.
I have changed the tap wires from the 2+3s leads (supplied) to make one 4s lead,,as per the Techical addendum.

Checked batt voltage,15.43v, powered up aircraft Awsome pulling power 2 mins,,,,retried proccedure (to the T),same story.
I'll read the distructions a few more times,,,but i think im gonna need a little
help....
and is the CDC 7.0 ok to use as charger, as it will do lipo no probs.
Cheers

ROV are you balancing while you charge or just balancing the pack before you charge. If your balancing the pack with out charging you don't plug in the main deans lead. Just plug the Balance tap in and the balancer should start to balance the pack. If you are balancing while charging Plug the deans in then with in 12 seconds plugb the tap in. Now press the mode light until it flashes. Also make sure the Slave/Master Switch is on Master. Now start the charge process. If this doesn't work let me know I'll walk you thru the whole Procedure.
