Introducing myself
#1
Good Morning. My name is Geremy my family and I just moved here from Charlotte, NC and now reside in Reedsburg. We came by the track this past Saturday to check it out you may have seen my wife, son and I.
I am getting back into the hobby after a 10 year hiatus. I use to run pancars in (Nastruck) bodies on pavement.
Matt mentioned you run brushless motors from hobbyking could you post a budget motor/esc I could run in my traxxas slash 2wd using the stock radio?
Thanks for the warm welcome and I look forward to see you all at the track.

Hey Geremy welcome to Madison. I have had great experience with these motors:

In terms speed control I normally use tekin. But here is a cheap one from HobbyKing.

I would suggest picking up a used tekin. You can get them here on rctech for about 60. Anyway hope this helps you get going. If you still have more questions feel free to message me or stop by the track again.

Hey Geremy! Welcome to Reedsburg and welcome back to the hobby! It's great to hear that you're getting back into RC racing. I'm glad you stopped by the track and I may have seen you and your family there.
Regarding the brushless motor and ESC for your Traxxas Slash 2WD, I can definitely help you out. HobbyKing has some budget-friendly options that would work well with your setup. One option you can consider is the Turnigy TrackStar 17.5T brushless motor combined with the TrackStar 80A ESC. This combo should provide good performance and compatibility with your stock radio.
Before making a purchase, make sure to double-check the compatibility of the motor and ESC with your Traxxas Slash model. You can also reach out to other experienced racers at the track for their recommendations and insights.
