Default 2013 Outdoor Plans

Any news on plans for this summers racing program. A move is not going to happen from what was said.

Wondering how many guys are interested in putting together a race season this year at MARCCA? First there has to be some interest in racing. Then there needs to be the workers willing to put forth the effort to making the track and maintaining it. If there isnt both, no need to bother.

The club exists for the members enjoyment. It also relies on its members to do what is needed to make things happen. The club doesnt have to do anything if the members dont want it. The club does need a few good people to oversee it and make sure that the club exists for the members to enjoy.

Todays society seems to have made us into a culture of "pay and take". Nobody seems to want to take the time to put forth effort. We would rather just pay for someone else to do it.

I am interested in racing this year for sure. I only have electric- 1/8B,1/8T,4x4SCT,2x4sct,1/10B,1/10ST
I have experience building and maintaining motocross tracks and know how to run all equipment needed to build and maintain a track. But limited knowledge of what makes a good rc track for both 1/8 and 1/10 scale if both were to be ran.
I am sure building takes place during a "work day".
It is about 45 minutes for me to get there so day to day stuff it is a stretch to get there.
I also race motocross at Aztalan the second Sunday of the month so I would not make those Sundays to race.
Maybe a schedule could be made up that does not interfere with Clarks races?
It takes me about the same time to get to CCX so if others are not really interested I will probably end up going there this summer.
Was really hoping for something closer this summer.
Also If the club decides to not have the track usable this summer I may be building a small "practice" track in Stoughton at the Mel Bakke park. This already have the dirt and a track layout just needs to be made up one weekend.

That's all I have...

Perhaps if there was significant financial incentive to build and work on the track it might overcome some of our (seemingly) waning interest.

It's difficult to justify working on the Nelson's track when there's another track already done 10 minutes away and the entry fee is less.

What ever happened with Keith Hills track?

I guess that might be what it has come down to. Gone are the days of doing something for the good of all. Today it is all about ME.

Sure glad Mr Clark doesn't think that way or there would be no place to race outdoor within 100 miles.

If nothing else the club needs to remove its assets from the present property to protect them. I will be glad to go out there and help. Somebody please organize something.

Has anyone got a definative answer from Nelsons Crossing?
I think we should find a place we can race and then offer up the opportunity to race if there is interest. I think most are waiting to see if there even is a property.
I didn't race outdoor much last year due to the uncertainty of a race actually
happening. I drove 98 miles each way every week to race... Very expensive but at least there was a race.

Would any one be Interested in starting up a 10 scale outdoor series? Maybe 4 races a yr? We have the track. The wood is there for the driver stand just need to build. We are working on a full watering system, wooden jumps with astroturf or carpet a box turn like indoor. Lights for night time racing. Might be a great opportunity to get new people into the sport and have some fun. Just puttin it out there. And I got to say....it's fun flying around that big berm 4 wide

And it's in Sun Prairie.

:note: This was last yrs set up. Things are changing for the better. This place has great potential.

Thank you. Yeah you dont see to many 10th scale outdoor tracks if any at all. IMO thats part of the problem. It's hard to rope new people into outdoor when you have to spend the money on a 8th scale. 10th scale is just a little easyer for the beginner or the guy or gal that dosent have the resources for 8th scale. I cant wait till Im able to race 8th scale but till then what do you do. You build a 10th scale track and have some fun with your buddy's
