Carpet Challenge
#25
It was a low but good turnout with 75 Different cars and trucks racing.
From Friday night practice till Sunday afternoon everything went smooth(thank you Doug H. for developing the awesome and glitch free scoring of R.C. pro!).
Mark King and Greg F. ran a very good program and stayed busy with door prizes all weekend long!
A special treat for the busy racer, this Weekend only we had a kitchen and it was brought to you and run by Angie (Mrs Rockpile) Roberts.
She had roast beef sandwiches,Hotdogs,Nachos,Chille(Prepared by the Hartley's),Chips, candy and more and I tried most everything and had a very Happy stomach!
Despite the low turnout-the compitition levels were high and the rac ing was tight!
Each round The trucks would run,the jumps were removed and right into the on road round, then jumps back out and so-on.
Most everyone moved jumps and it went very fast and consistant each and every time.
The jumps were off within 2-3 minutes most times and up in as fast as 5!
Saturday everyone ran 4 qualifiers and Sunday there was one more qualifier and then the Mains.
Paul Schmudlach won a Corrally F-1 and Kyle Lopez won a 18th scale Associated Truck.
The normal sponsors(associated,Novak and a few others) didn't send us anything this year for prizes(we apreciate all they have donated in the past though) so the club spent some cash,R.C. performance and Dockters Hobby world Came through and once again donated alot of usefull and cool door prizes.
Jim Deals kicked up some stuff and gave the club A couple kits at cost to raffle.
We had many local sponsers-Cousin's Subs(If you won a Trophey you got a free meal at Cousin's)Northern Battery's(About 80 pounds of aa and d-size battery's,hats and a few Jump packs-for jumpstarting real cars)
Hanley donated Some Apparel from there line of Victory Motor cycle wear.
I'm sure I missed a few(sorry).
We only had racers from Marcca show up no visitors this year.
Even though there were no out-of-towners a few folks didn't know the difference because some of the off and on-road racers never come to the track to check out the other and turns out had never met till this weekend!
The Truck guys were treated to some Great onroad racing to watch and I'll tell you the Trucks were showing everyone some of our fancy Driving!
The place was kept clean all Weekend and everyone helped make it a fun Carpet Challenge.
I'll post results later.
