The annual Marcca - Monroe series is all set.
The first leg of the two day series will be January 29th at Marcca.
The second leg of the series will be February 5th at Monroe.
Qualifying starts at 10. Three heats and features.
Classes will be "Marcca style" - based on experience and skill level. Open class is for the less experienced and Super is for the top level racers.
Marcca will have its doors open at 7 for their date.
Both tracks have agreed to close the days of the event held at the other track.
Plaques will be handed out to the combined points winners. This is an individual race..not a team race.
Always some great action for this event at both tracks. See you there.

Well, another MARCCA Monroe challenge is complete. This was the third MM Challenge Jason and I have attended. Two years ago was not only Jason's first MM Challenge but also the first time we ventured to another track besides MARCCA. (I don't really count RCP as a non MARCCA track) Two years have passed, and a lot has changed for Jason, the club, and from what I can tell RC in general. During the last leg of the race in Monroe I was reminded of something that has not changed. Thank you Tory.
After a quick stop at the DQ for treats, the ride home was filled with talk about nervousness, a pounding heart, holding a tight line and of course, transponder location. I can not imagine a better final race or final outcome.
Keith.

Thank you guys. Keith for the help and saving a spot for Alec and I. Spike for fixing Alec's trk when it broke and I couldn't fix it cause I was fixing mine. To Jeff / Spike and all the Marrca guys I see when I'm home and able to come play. Thanks. All ways feel welcome and have fun hanging out with you. Yesterday racing was great and I was reminded that I still suck but having fun.

A short answer to your question Dayrl would be that in the Super Truck main Tory, the # 1 qualifier, pulled over to let the rest of the field go first reminding me of Tory's good sportsmanship. This answer would leave out the real feeling of what I was reminded. If you roll all the things from the first paragragh in with how Tory worked his way up through the field eventually to a position right behind Jason. I can't even begin to count the number of laps that Tory sat behind Jason. Both working through traffic, Jason holding an incredibly tight line with Tory right there but never a hint of aggressive driving. In the last turn of the race just before the loop Tory trys to cut under Jason but cuts the track instead. Some say Jason's truck crossed the loop first but the computer registered Tory as crossing first even though it was tumbling over the pipe. A small debate followed but what was interesting was niether Tory or Jason were in the debate or seemed to really care either way. Jason just laughed and teased Tory saying "he should have won".
There is a certain "spirit" as Jason calls it that MARCCA is able to offer its members if they are willing to embrace it. The shear joy of running your remote control cars with friends. Speed, skill, sportmanship and trophies might just be added benefits.

Jason was pretty interested in transponder location on his different trucks as we talked on the way home. I told him that moving the transponder a few inches forward would probably not make up for the half a lap he was spotted. He thought that was almost as funny as making something to shoot the transponder ahead of the truck at the end of the race.
