Questions

Does any one know what xxxs parts fit on the xxx4?

FIRE RIDER 03-05-2004 07:52 PM

I dont own a xxx4 and my xxxs is comming in the mail on monday but my gues is that the only thing thats interchangable is the actual chassie. because the arms, shocks, and shock towers are different. outherwise they preaty much the same i think.

futureal 03-05-2004 08:46 PM

Very few parts are interchangable. The design is similar but because the XXX-4 has a longer chasses, nearly all the parts themselves will not fit together.

I mostly what to know if the hub carries, steering bellcranks, steering servo mounts, wheel adadpter, battery strap and posts, and the mount clamp are interchangeable

futureal 03-06-2004 10:07 AM

I would assume the battery strap stuff is the same, the rest I am not so sure on. You could compare part numbers on Losi's website perhaps.

I'll have a XXX-S at the track this Sunday if someone has a XXX-4 we could always compare.

What is the differents between 6 single, 6 double, 6 triple, and
6 quadjuple. Also what is the lowest turns on a motor, the lowest I found was 6 turn.

Flyin Fossil 03-07-2004 09:45 AM

prodirt, The short answer is a motor with a single wind will have more torque and slightly less rpm than a motor with 2 or 4 winds, given the same number of turns. The more winds the more rpm but it will take longer to "spool" up and not have the pull off the cornners. This is all relative to proper gearing.

I don't know of any production motor below a 6 turn. A 6 turn pulls alot of amps, so much that many sport speedo's can't handle the current.

Aclad Chrome paint

Set your compressor to about 12psi, shoot it from the bottle, no thinning. Do about 2-3 light coats, hold it up to a light to check for thin spots. Fill them in, and back it with either black ( deep chrome, but shows thin spots ) or with silver ( hides thin spots, not the "deep chrome" though.. )

I also suggest backing everything with white afterwards, just to put some extra protection over the chrome areas

The chrome body turned out good after I finished it.

prodirt19 03-11-2004 02:17 PM

But when i backed it with white the body turned silver. that really sucked because the chrome looked really cool.

What would be the fastest/best stock motor for a offroad dirt track?:tire:

futureal 03-14-2004 12:19 AM

I'd stick with a Trinity Monster.

prodirt19 03-14-2004 06:38 AM

The Team 1 monster motor or the monster pro. Right now I'm running the Team Orion Core Stock, its quite and its somewhat fast but not fast enough.

futureal 03-14-2004 09:32 AM

The Monster Pro is a dyno-tuned version of the monster that has been produced by Trinity. The Team 1 motor is also a dyno-tuned version of the monster, but produced and "re-labeled" by Team 1. Both versions are the same motor, just tuned by different people.

So, whichever one works. I usually would buy the Team 1 since they are more of a local company.
