it is dude. im in the process of making drift tires for my ride. i picked it up in a japanese site. you just need to slip on sections of PVC pipe onto worn out sedan tires and you got yourself a set of drift tires...

Para maiba naman... seems exciting and fun to try rc drift cars... just look at the photos:

Hopefully this thread will grow as a forum for fans of rc drifting in the Philippines.

TY.

Joel M.

P.S. All we need is ABS or PVC pipes (used as drift tires).

TNT - Thanks for the pictures bro. MANGPIT has extra sets of drift rims and tires, if you're interested. Personally though, I'd go for the whole kit as the body gives one hell of a psychological impact on the handling of the chassis. :p  :p

STRIKER - Kuha na rin sir!!! Let's then try to come up with (or read up on) rules on how competitions are carried out. :D :D :D

MANGPIT - Kudos to you sir too on the 3rd Annual Le Mangs!!!! Damihan pa natin ng laps the next time around!!! :D :D :D

FBJ, HMAN, STRIKER, - Ituloy na yang CS 500!!! January opening race kaya??? :D :D :D

ITIM - . . . . . . Ah eh, nevermind.

:p :p :p

how to make your own cheap PVC drift tire:

1. Buy a 2" PVC piping... bring your rim sa hardware so you can check if it exacly fits... note* check the pvc ifs perfectly round, if not papalitan niyo sa hardware :D
http://www2.ocn.ne.jp/~sw-pal/DRIFT/...e/enbipipe.JPG

2. Cut the PVC using a pvc cutter... you can use other methods as long as the pvc keeps it's shape... but this is the best way. make sure na ang lapad ng pvc cut ay kasing size ng rims
http://www2.ocn.ne.jp/~sw-pal/DRIFT/...re/pipecut.JPG

3. insert the cut pvc into the rims... if hindi sakto ang pasok put electrical tape around the rim so it fits well... then glue it
http://www2.ocn.ne.jp/~sw-pal/image.gif

pics are from http://www2.ocn.ne.jp/~sw-pal/DRIFT/...rift-Tiya.html

your drift tires should look like this
http://www.ausrc.com/galleries/migoreng/drift/pvc1.jpg

*note* use pvc on all four rims to make your car drift gracefully :D

happy drifting

korek!! i got to try out the pvc tires last night. pretty good. but off power, the car kinda spins. i like the yokomo drift tires. problem is, they're kinda expensive...

joelt 10-27-2004 07:23 PM

IS-KUD - Look at it this way. The Yoke drift tires and rims are just as expensive as buying a new set of Sorex tires, inserts, and Speedming rims. :p  :p

Seriously, they'll probably last for quite some and will give you added tunability.

. . . . Hell of a lot more difficult to install though.

ok bros, i'll try to be there on sat. ehehe, i have a class kasi that day eh, hehehe, still schooling :D

onga pala, pvc drift tires are wideley used around the world, every body uses it, yeah, yok drift tires are kinda expensive... but i still like the pvc tires, you can perform crazy long drifts from it :D

btw: check this link out:
http://www.nopistons.com/turboii/alb...9a79af6fc2.gif

that rc uses pc drift tires, tignan niyo ang nipis ng tires, sobrang nipis :D malalaman mo agad kung pvc or not

and... try typing in "pvc drift tires" at google search, you'll find out more about it :D of course without the "

have fun
