I agree with you. This is no joke. But once you get into it, there is no turning back to nitro. Its just more fun than having to adjust the needle settings all the time. Specially here in the USA. We are affected by climate changes more (cold, hot, dry, humid).
Don't get me wrong, I can tune nitro engines even with my eyes shut but doing it and monitoring engine performance all the time is just not fun. Driving is more fun and you can only get a lot of it with 2-stroke gasoline engines. Think about it that way and there's your justification for the large scale models. :nod: :nod: :nod: |

Did you hear that Juan/5 and strongmaterial? The venue for 1:5 scale monster truck racing is set. strongmaterial: You are very right on the nitro tuning issue. Keeping a close watch to engine tuning all the time takes out all the fun in playing. Running gasoline powered cars is really more enjoyable that's why I love my 15 year old ARC Kyosho gas car. Many thanks for your input to enlighten us mere mortals. Juan/5: The cost of 1:5 scale gas cars is really substantial like you said. We are talking about a lot of pesos here in the 6 figures already. Your passion must be really strong to invest into this. I hope we can drum up more interest from people in the hobby. IMO, if you are going to stay in this scale for a long time, the initial investment is quite justified because the cost of running it is minimal to say the least. |
