hi doriftu,

some of us have no machine at all.. just hack saw, drills and files. That's how I started earlier. Some may have a hobby milling machine.

But now, after I build my own CNC machine from scratch, I am now proud owner of a DIY CNC Machine... here is my build log for the diy cnc machine..

I got the Mamba ESCs only. The motors are Feigao XL, cheap, strong & sensorless!! with 5mm pinion shaft, just nice for monster truck.

To avoid damage to spur gear, we use correct pitch pinion. E-Savage uses 32 pitch pinion gears. HL pinion pitch I'm not so sure. My colleagues play HL Mad Truck, will ask them.

Normally when spur gear damage, either pinion pitch is incorrect or gear meshing not right (too tight or loose). Also make sure motor mounting is tight & won't move. This way the spur gear won't go bald.

thanks.

If like that, have to order. hemmm.

The HL truck pitch is 32 pitch. The pinion for the truck is already 16T with the spur at 55T. My mamba clog due to the low turn ratio.

So im currently looking for a 32 pitch pinion. 10t or 11t.

Yo Frost, thanks man. It wasnt tube, but steel wire, which i bought from local hardware ("five gold" shop) shop. with abt 3.2mm diameter, i think its ok, and after brazing, these cage is strong! But abit heaver la.. still more strengthening parts and securing parts to braze in..

hi sifus,

how do you weld the tubes or wires together? What method do u use?

I dont think the normal welder used in contruction is applicable in this case right?
