Default *******New 1/8th or 10th scale off road track in Topeka*****

Thought I would get a discussion started in the breaking ground on the track at Hwy 24 and Meriden road. So far the track is tilled and we have a lap counting system, pa system, and a lap top. Dave Beckwith is getting er done. If you guys get curious this week you could drive by and check it out. Just go to Meriden Rd. and Hwy 24 go North and it is the last driveway before you get to soldier creek. It's on the west side of the street. When you pull in the driveway look to the right. Can't wait to do some racing.

Its sure going to be nice to have a local outdoor track again, lets all pull together and support this track and keep it around. We have a good class of electric 1/8 ready to go and hope some more nitro 1/8 buggys and truggys come out.

I think one of the goals that Dave has in mind is to make this track big enough for 1/8th scales to be fun but not so big that it won't be fun for 1/10. I myself will be in for some 1/8 Nitro and some 1/10 action. We should have a pretty good idea within this week as to how long we are looking at to get this going. Dave is looking at buying a tractor to assist in track rebuilds so if anyone knows of any killer deals on either a tractor or possibly a Dingo with a scoop shoot me a pm.

Thanks Mike and Will for stepping up. Will I sent you a pm about the bobcat. On a side note I raced 1/8 nitro for the first time at P. Hill this last Saturday. I couldn't believe how badass it was. I just got a smoking deal from Dee and Mee's on a new HotBodies D8 and should have it going soon.

Yes this track site should be a pretty killer place to race. The track will roughly be around 125-150' x 90'. Blocked by tree lines on the south, east and north sides so wind shouldn't bother us too much. Lots of room for parking, trailors, and pits.

I was kinda hoping Dave would keep this pretty much on the down low until it was a week or two from fully completed, then bust out the huge news

BELIEVE IT PEOPLE, THIS ISN'T JUST TALK, WE COULD BE UP AND RUNNING WITHIN WEEKS. AND NOT PO-DUNK BACK YARD BASHING TYPE STUFF, WE'RE TALKING FULL BLOWN OUTDOOR NITRO OFFROAD RACE TRACK BACK IN TOPEKA.

THANK YOU DAVE B.
