Does anyone know where i can get some good thrust balls for the kyosho diffs?

Scott aka Smac has rebuilt them twice and it seems my front diff stays super smooth but the rear gets crunchy after one run wtf? it does seem that there kinda loose after the rebuild should i tighten rear down more during break in,i did back my slipper off some but of course that was after the rebuild of the diffs anyways any idea's lemme know please!!

Also Mike marshall do u have the Zx5 shock springs in stock all the different ones? and some Diff rebuild stuff im gonna try again until i can find some good thrust bearings for it

Could you tell me what time the races start on Saturday and what classes do you run? What time are you usually finished?
Thanks

John- You can just use the AE Carbide diff balls.

As for the crunchy diff, are you breaking the rebuilt diff in correctly? And by rebuild, are you replacing diff rings, thrust bearing, and diff balls?

With a fresh diff, once put back together, turn the car on and hold one tire letting the other spin free. Slowly increase the throttle to about 20% for 30-40 seconds. Then switch and hold the opposite tire and repeat. Doing this creates a groove in the diff rings. After you have done both sides, check the diff and tighten if needed ( more then likely you will need to tighten a little due to setting the groove in the rings ). Then go test the car on the track to make sure the diffs are set right, go run a couple laps and check it again, then once more after your run.

very nice Ben!! thanks... i did use the Ae diff balls plus new thrustbearings and diff rings.. basically we rebuilt them and then they felt loose to me but smooth then i put it in the car and ran it full out i did not tighten or do as u explained... i will try what u said and hope it does better this time thanks!! i think this will help out big time on tommorow's rebuild!!

John, you'll always need to break in a new diff with either the one wheel method or on the track, but for whatever break in you use, make sure and tighten up those diffs. They'll always loosen up during breakin.

Mike- It's ashton! finally you're gonna run some offroad. Smac opens and starts practice at 9, and racing starts at 1. hope to see ya there!

I can't tell if you are high or dumb...but here is what the 3PK settings are:

For 4wd

Epa high (6.5) 95
low 92

Throttle curve high -10
low -10

St curve -10

St speed 92 each way

Set all of these to max, reset speed control to 1-1-0-0 or 1-1-1-0, then set the transmitter.

For 2wd

Epa high (8.5) 110
low 88

Throttle and steering curve same as 4wd.

St speed 88 each way

Speed control settings on 2wd is 1-1-2-2.

Maybe you shouldn't eat crunchy foods when rebuilding your diff.
