Make sure your ESC is plugged into the correct channel on your receiver.

What type of radio? Sometimes the throttle needs to be reversed in the radio.

what esc?

sounds like you need to do a initial setup on your esc for forward/neutral/brake etc etc, it's needs to be calibrated to your radio.

Well most esc's have a mode button or set button on them. Try and find it. Then most require you to hold it down either before and during turn on or while its turned on. Then wait for neutral to set, then most have a audible or set of lights blink to tell you when to pull full throttle and then audible or blink for full brakes. If you have the instruction manual it would tell you how. If not go to the web site and down load it.
